Ecclesiastes 12:13-14(KJV)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
It is obvious that many people do not know what really matters in life so they end up chasing shadows. Many people have ended the journey of life in regrets. According to the above scripture, the value or quality of a man’s life is based upon the service he renders to his Maker in obedience to His commands. We are admonished to fear God and keep His Commandments for He will bring every work into judgement. This is the only way our labor in life will have value and meaning. Any labor you put up that will not further your cause of having eternal life in God’s Kingdom is an exercise in futility. Your achievements on earth do not matter if you do not have a personal relationship with God.
At the end of life’s journey, there is only one thing that will matter when we meet the LORD God Almighty. And it is whether we feared Him and obeyed His commandments. If we fear God, we will obey His commandments by believing in His Son Jesus Christ to the end, for this is how we demonstrate our love to Him. If we do not keep His commandments, then we do not love Him. And His commandments are: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” For the fear of the LORD is wisdom, and those who are wise hate evil.
Beloved, in order to live a fulfilled life on earth and end well in eternity, you have to focus on the things that matter most in life. Because on judgment Day, God will bring every deed into judgment, whether it is good or evil. For we will all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one will give account for their life on earth, whether good or bad. If you are reading this message and have not yet believed in Jesus Christ, I encourage you to accept Him as Your Lord and Personal Savior, for it is appointed to man to die once after that judgement. Be determine to pursue what matters most in life, remembering those who live for God live for good, while those who live for the devil live for evil. It is instructive today that you abide in sobriety and discover God’s purpose for your life. I will end with Philippians 1:21 and the Scripture says “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
O Lord, help me to focus on the things that matter most in life. Remove every distraction from my life and cause me to walk in Your Will in Jesus’ Name.
