2 Peter 1:17 (KJV)
For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Our anchor Scripture shows clearly how God is pleased with His Son, Jesus Christ. God is the Owner and the Giver of life and a major purpose God gives us life is to please and glorify Him. We are created to give pleasure to God with our lives, so we don’t live just to please ourselves. Living to please God means living as a source of joy, happiness or satisfaction to God with your lifestyle. We don’t live to please society, neither do we live to please the devil; we only live to please God, our Maker. Revelation 4:11 says “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” In whatever area of service we find ourselves, recognize that our service should be rendered as unto the Lord (Ephesians 6:7). With this mind-set, our focus will be set on Heaven’s testimonial about us and not what people think. Jesus was all out to do His Father’s bidding and God Himself testified of Him, saying “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”
The God of Heaven must confirm our claims that we belong to Him and that we are His ambassadors on earth, both in holiness and prosperity, just as He testified to the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ by speaking from Heaven and demonstrating His Power through Him. To be acceptable to God as a beloved son or daughter is not an easy task. It requires total submission to God’s Will and total obedience to His Commandments. This translates to living our lives to please God in all ramifications. However, many are more interested in pleasing man than God. The extent some people go to just to receive the recommendation of men, we cannot but pity their lack of understanding. Some people are ready to please God only when the price is affordable, cheap or when it is convenient. There are many who bring agony to God by their lifestyles, they rather live to please man and disobey God. Remember, the whole world may approve of you but God may disapprove of you due to your lifestyle. It is disastrous when God disapproves of a person. No matter how men reject you for your righteousness, God will remember you for your promotion in Jesus’ Name.
Beloved, seek the testimonial of Heaven today and your struggles to make it in life will become a thing of the past. My dear friends, can God call you this day my beloved son or daughter in whom I am well pleased? How does God feel about your conduct? Are you giving God pleasure with your life or you are causing Him pain with your life? Is God proud of you or ashamed of you? The truth is, your life is either giving God excitement or causing Him embarrassment; your life is either a source of pleasure to God or a source of pain to Him. So if you are serving Him, serve Him well. You are either for Him or not. Be more serious with God in this season and beyond. Be on fire for Him, because when it comes to the things of God you cannot be lukewarm. Today, make holiness your lifestyle. and dedicate yourself to God in true worship, submitting yourself totally to His Will. Live not as a sin-ridden son of fallen man, but as a reborn child of the Most High God. The Bible says Jesus Christ received from God the Father honor and glory, I pray that by you serving Him faithfully you will also receive honor and glory in Jesus Mighty Name.
O Lord, I thank You for Your Word to me today, help me not to cause You pain with my lifestyle, give me the grace to bring You pleasure and excitement in Jesus’ Name.
