2 Corinthians 5:15 (KJV)
And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so we can live for Him. We are on earth to live for God. He formed us for Himself for us to live for Him. The Scripture says Jesus Christ died for us so that we live for God, not for ourselves. He bought us from the bondage of sin and death with His blood. In other words, He translated us from the kingdom of darkness to His kingdom. Philippians 1:21 says, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Apostle Paul was bold in his declaration that he only lives for Christ. As Christians, our principal duty is to live for God to give Him pleasure. Those who live for God live for good, while those who live for the devil live for evil. When we decide to live for Christ, everything will fall into place spiritually, and when settled spiritually, other aspects of our life will receive meaning and fulfillment. Romans 14:8, says “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.” So, whether we live or die, we do all for God!
Life is not worth living if we live for ourselves. Most people are still battling with the meaning of life and its worth. Many live today the way they want because they misunderstand life. They have wandered from the original plan of God by living for themselves. They live for many other things on earth instead of living for God. For instance, many live for money. That is, the quest for money is the center of their existence. They will hurt, lie, kill, betray, cheat, lose sleep, avoid going to church, and so on for money. Some only live for pleasure. Their lives revolve around the impermanent fantasies of life. Others live just for this world; the world dictates and directs their lives. They value the world’s opinion above the counsel of the Word of God. It is not correct for Jesus Christ to die for us, and we live for ourselves. It is this reason Apostle Paul wrote in Acts 17:28, “For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” To live, move and have your being in God, is to dedicate our all to God. It is being alive purposely because of God, that is a life sold out to God completely. In other words, we are to live a life where God, the devil, our friends, and enemies know that we are passionate about God.
Beloved, never desire to live the life you feel is good for you. God must be Lord over your life. Make Him the center of attention of your life. Live a life centered on God, and your life will never be the same. Make up your mind to be dedicated to God. Make Him the focus of the pursuits of your life. Entrust your all to His Hands. At the end of your journey on earth, where do you want to end, Heaven or hell? Do not waste your life acquiring worldly things but live for God, because Heaven or hell is non-fictitious.. A day is coming when all that will matter is the investments you made for eternity. One day you will stand before your Maker and account for all you did on earth. Do not wait and regret when the end comes, as the rich man did(Luke 16:22-31). Live for God, and you will escape the torments of hell forever. Do not live 2022 pursuing things of this world but seek and live for God faithfully. My prayer for you is that you will leave everything else behind you, CHANGE, and LIVE for God. Jesus Christ died for you so you can live for Him. Live only for Him. If you diligently give thought to God’s Words to seek Him and live for Him, everything else will follow. Live for God, and you will live for good(Matt 6:33), and God will make you the center of attraction in your world. Remember, until you live for God, you can never end with God. You cannot live for yourself and find yourself with God by a mere chance in eternity.
O Lord, thank You for dying for me on the Cross of Calvary. I receive the grace to live for You forever in Jesus’ Name.
