Look For God With Your Whole Heart and Soul

Deuteronomy 4:29(MSG)
But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul.
From our anchored Scripture it is evident we are to seek God with all their hearts and souls to find Him. In other words, to find God requires absolute devotion from us. When we earnestly seek God, we know Him and His Ways. Throughout the Bible, God promises that those who seek Him will find Him. In Proverbs 8:17 it is written “I love those who love me, And those who seek me diligently will find me.” In the book of 2 Chronicles 15:2, king Asa also gained encouragement from Azariah when the Spirit of God came upon him and he shouted “The Lord will stay with you as long as you stay with Him! Whenever you look for Him, you will find Him.” In the same manner if we seek God with our whole heart and soul, we will also find Him in every situation we find ourselves.
The key to finding God is to put all our hearts and souls into finding Him, that is we value God and our relationship with Him more than anything else. In Matthew 13:45-46 Jesus said “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” Certain things are worth going great lengths to find. When we seek for something, we usually leave every other thing we are doing until we find that which we seek. For example, when a man is after a woman he likes, he will go all out and do everything he knows to do best to get that woman. Likewise, when we spend time with God, we are sowing seeds that will produce a good harvest in our lives. As we stay determined and persistent, we will reach the point where we will understand more of God’s Word, as we enjoy our relationship with Him, hearing His Voice more and more. How committed are we to the Almighty God and to His work? How intimate is our relationship with God and His Word? No matter how many principles and formulas we learn, we will never have lasting victory in our Christian life without spending time in fellowship with the Lord. It has now become a norm where many believers seek God halfheartedly, or to seek His Hand and Blessings, forgetting that it is written in Luke 12:31 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and he will give you everything you need”. We can be grateful, knowing that when we seek Him, and His righteousness, we will find Him and all other things will be added to our lives.
Beloved, as man search for gold, silver and other hidden treasure with diligence, likewise search for God with eagerness and with a passionate desire to find Him, for those who seek Him with all their heart finds Him. Draw nigh with a true heart and call upon Him in truth and He will grant you His Presence, favor you with fresh supplies of His Grace, and everything needful for your life. Seek Him through His Word, worship, praise, in your daily life, and you will find Him. Today, as you seek God with all your heart and soul, He will visit your situation with His Fire and give you help in the Jesus’ Name. Remember, seek Him in true surrender and adoration and over time, you will know Him on a deeper level as He restores your fortunes.
O Lord, help me to seek You with all my heart in Jesus’ Name.
