Love The Lord With Your All

Matthew 22:37(KJV)

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Jesus, while answering the question of the scribes on which is the greatest commandment, said the most important commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind. When we love God with all our heart, soul, and mind, we naturally develop great passion and zeal for anything that concerns Him. It is living to give God pleasure with our lives. It implies that our totality must go to God. As faithful disciples of Jesus, we need to be filled with unrestricted and single-minded zeal for God and live our lives wholly devoted to Him. We show our love to Him by obeying Him and giving our all, including our lives, unconditionally. Indeed, God expects us to love Him above everything else. To love the Lord with all our hearts, soul, and mind is to have an unquenchable and unconquerable hunger or passion for God.

We live in a world where most people claim to love God and have surrendered their lives to Christ, yet their conducts still question their confession. The love of self has become paramount in the lives of our generation. We invest value and love into that which offers us nothing in return. And unfortunately, the cares of this world have crept into the children of God. We give way to individualism, where we align our lives around our own wishes, dreams, or desires. We offer our attention, energy, and love to that which isn’t always rooted in simply loving God. However, we cannot love God wholeheartedly until we deny ourselves of personal interests and desires that conflict with God’s commandments or ways of His Kingdom. Loving God indeed will show in our obedience to His commandments which are not grievous, especially when compared to the weight and consequences of sin. In other words, to love God wholeheartedly, His will must be above all others in our lives, and His laws should be our yardstick for measuring what is right or wrong. Jesus gave us the greatest example of love when He gave His life for us on the Cross. With the love of God in us, we receive His power, authority, anointing, and grace to reign and rule our world, and the devil cannot take us for a ride. Only if we pursue loving God can we live out a life of meaning. May we all become Christians who sincerely love God in Jesus’ Name.

Beloved, when you can confirm to God that He owns your energy, ability, and resources, then you have truly surrendered your life to Christ. Make up your mind to be dedicated to God by living, being affectionate, committed, genuine, and separated unto God and His cause on earth. You cannot claim to love God if you do not have His commandments in your heart or obey them. Today, love God boldly, without reservations, and see what He will do with your life. Be interested in what interests God and learn to be consistent. You cannot afford to be wavering or undecided. Be willing to give everything God requires of you, purpose in your heart to surrender your all to Him. Do not let miracles or breakthroughs be the reason for serving God. Seek God for Who He is and not what He can do for you. Remember to obey the first and the most important commandment all the days of your life and your life will never be the same.

O LORD, I ask for the grace to love You with all my heart, soul and mind in Jesus’ Name.
