More Than Them

2 Kings 6:16-17(KJV)

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. And Elisha prayed and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.

Elisha was one of the exceptional prophets in the Bible days. He demonstrated his confidence in God when it appeared there was no hope. The king had instructed his forces to surround the city where Elisha and his servant were staying to arrest them. In the physical, it looked like Elisha and his servant would be arrested and carried off to the King of Aram. The servant believed they were doomed, but Elisha said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with [the enemy.” After praying, the Lord opened his servant’s eyes, and he saw an angelic host with horses and chariots of fire around them. Immediately, he believed there was a majority with the one on the Lord’s side. Staying focused on the Lord can be a challenge, especially when distractions from our enemies surround us. We often let our emotions and reactions be influenced by what we see happening in our physical surroundings.

By the standards of this world, the majority number or opinion is the acceptable way of measuring the correctness or wrongness of an idea or way of life. However, as citizens of Heaven, let us not be terrified into surrendering to the world’s beliefs. The question is, whose side are we on? Is it on God’s side or not? We have no reason to fear, for if indeed, we are the majority with God. 1 John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” What would break others won’t affect us negatively because Greater is the One in us than the one in the world. The truth is, moving on to the side of Jesus Christ is moving on to the side of victory, redemption, and peaceful living. He fought for us, and through His conquest, we are more than conquerors, having obtained victory over the devil. When we feel overwhelmed and outnumbered, we can remember that God is by our side, for His Angels encamp around us(Psalm 34:7). When we face hopeless difficulties, we should not forget the multitude of spiritual resources and forces God has put at our disposal. Even though we may not see them with our physical eyes, His innumerable company of angelic hosts is always with us!

Beloved, it may seem like one thing happens after another or the forces of darkness are coming against your life. Never feel overwhelmed by things coming against you. Fear not, for those who are with you are more than those who are with them. You are more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ. Refrain from listening to the noise of opposition. Pay attention to the voice of the Defender. With Him on your side, you have all you need to have complete victory. You are the apple of His eyes and His treasure. You carry a ‘Touch not’ anointing upon your life. You’re more in number than you think because the Greater One lives in you. One with God is the majority. So, resist the lie which says that because you are the minority, you have to join them. God is on your side and promises to guide, protect and lead you into victory in every area of your life. If God is for you, who can be against you? Today, focus on God because the more you focus on Him, the more help and support He will give you. No matter how hopeless your situation may be or the fierceness of the battle against you, I decree that your enemies will be disgraced, and you will be victorious, in Jesus’ Name. Remember, those who are with you are more than those who are with them.

O Lord, open my spiritual eyes to see the things of the spirit to overcome my fears in Jesus’ Name!
