Job 34:21(KJV)
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.
It is clear from the above Scripture that everything is laid bare before God’s Eyes, with nothing hidden from His sight. In our daily lives, God’s eyes are upon the ways of men, and He sees all that we do. His eyes are upon our every activity, word, every good and wicked work. This nature of God should strike fear in the heart of everyone. The warning is that we cannot hide from God. We can’t outrun or make a mockery of Him, for every action in secret, whether good or bad, will be judged strictly. God knows everything about us; He knows our good deeds and sins. It can be frightening and consoling that the LORD sees and knows everything. However, God watches over the righteous, guiding and guarding their way. Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” Everything we do is visible to Him. In our relationship with God, we experience far greater exposure to accountability than anything surveillance cameras; or other cameras may see. There is no place on earth or in the Heavens where we are outside the watchful care of our Heavenly Father.
In this life, God knows the intentions of men, and the thoughts of their hearts are open to Him. All our actions and inactions are wide open before Him. Many deeds of people take place in secret, but God can see everything, even those carried out in the dark. All things are open to Him. Hebrews 4:13 says, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” The wicked may think they are getting away with the evil done, but God’s eyes are on them. Piling up our sins, at best, only soothes the situation at that moment, but it doesn’t bring a solution because all are naked to God. All the sins committed, the wrongs dispensed and displayed with wanton attitude are open to God, and we will give an account. In any case, to what extent can we hide sin? For how long can we cover up our evil deeds? Psalm 139:1-4 says, “O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.” Our lives will change for the best if we remember God sees everything and hears every word; nothing escapes His knowledge! God is watching us, so we should live a life of holiness.
Beloved, do not be deceived; God knows all your actions because His eyes are in every place on both evil and good. If you do not want to end in regrets in time and eternity, be committed to what matters most in your life. Thinking you can hide in the dark and do evil is living in a fool’s paradise. All things, including sins, are naked and open before God, with nothing hidden from Him. The next time you feel tempted to sin in secret, imagine the eyes of God looking at you from all directions. Be aware that God is watching you from all angles. If only you imagine the number of eyes monitoring you, you would be conscious that everything you do is open. Ask God to give you the kind of heart that will allow Him to show Himself strong on your behalf. He is ready to forgive you if only you are willing to come to Him, confess, and forsake your sinful ways, for He will not reject a broken and repentant heart. Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. Your appointed day of mercy comes when you humbly ask for it from the One who is rich in mercy. As you do your duties today, you must depend on God, whose eyes are upon your ways, and restrain yourself from sin. No matter where you go today, may the awareness of the truth that God is watching encourage you to choose obedience to His Word and receive comfort. To you whose heart is not faithful, He knows your every deed, and to you who seek to please Him, He knows you are sincere and will show mercy. Remember, all is open before the eyes of the Almighty God, and He will certainly judge and bring the hidden things of darkness to light.
O Lord, give me the grace to live right for Your Glory as You deliver me from the evil way in Jesus’ Name.
