Hebrews 4:13(NIV)
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
It is very clear from the above Scripture that nothing is hidden from the sight of God, everything is laid bare before His Eyes. That is, in our relationship with God, we experience a far greater level of exposure and accountability than anything surveillance cameras or MRI may see. Proverbs 15:3 says “The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.” God sees all and everywhere. His eyes are upon our every activity, our every word, our good works and our bad works. It is also written in Jeremiah 23:24 “Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the LORD. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD.” As children of God, we need to find joy in knowing that God is keeping a watch over us.
The wicked may think that they are getting away with the evil that is done in secret but God’s eyes are on them. The way people relate with sin is an indicative of the level of brokenness they have attained. An unbroken fellow tries to cover up their sins. We cannot be broken if the most important thing to us is to cover our sin the very moment we commit one. In any case, to what extent can we truly hide sin? For how long can we cover up our evil deeds? All those sins are laid bare before God who we must give account one day. Proverbs 28:13 says “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” To enforce the fulfilment of God’s Promise in our lives, we must make a heartfelt cry for mercy through genuine repentance of those sins we have committed. It is amazing that some children of God are living with the doctrine that knowledge, truth, and morality exist in relation to culture, society, or historical context where what is right or wrong depends on the justification they have for it. However, Jesus plainly taught His hearers in Luke 13:2-5, that except they repent, they would perish like those who went before them. God does not want anyone to perish, but He wants us all to repent(2 Peter 3:9).
Beloved, if you do not want to end in regrets both in time and in eternity, be committed to what matters most in life. Thinking that you can hide away your sins from God is living in a fool’s paradise. Child of God, all things including sin are naked and open before God, nothing is hidden. The next time you are tempted to sin in secret, just imagine the multiple eyes looking at you from all directions. Be aware that you are being watched. If only you can imagine the number of eyes monitoring you, you would be conscious of the fact that nothing you do is hidden! Ask God to give you the kind of heart that will allow Him to show Himself strong on your behalf. He is ready to forgive you if only you are willing to come to Him just the way you are, confess and forsake your sinful ways for He will not reject a broken and repentant heart. It is written in 2 Corinthians 7:10 “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.” Your appointed day of mercy comes when you humbly ask for it from the One who is rich in mercy. As you go about your duties today, you must totally depend on God, whose eyes are upon the ways of man and restrain yourself from sin. Remember, nothing is hidden from the eyes of the Almighty God!
O Lord, I ask for forgiveness of sin, help me to forsake every sin in me in Jesus’ Name.
