Job 36:11-12(KJV)
If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
From our anchor Scripture, it is clear that our obedience and service to God provokes the blessing of God on our lives. Our obedience and service to God attracts both kingdom prosperity and security. Whoever wishes to enjoy the best God offers must be ready to obey and serve Him all the way. It is when we serve God and the interest of His Kingdom that He adds to us what others are dying to get. When the children of God meet His Conditions and live by His Principles, He empowers His people with His resources. In other words, there is a connection between abundance and obedience. We can’t obey and serve Him and end in lack. Psalms 34:10 says “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”
Our obedience and service are keys to generational prosperity. God’s secret key to prosperity is with them that are obedient to His Word. Abraham was a righteous man, the Bible records that he was the richest man in the East. Isaac by covenant of righteousness became excessively rich, so much so that he was envied by the Philistines. Psalm 37:25 says “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” This is what the covenant keeping God has with His children who are righteous, they never beg for bread. Isaiah 1:19 says “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” The key to possess the earth is given only to the obedient and willing children of God.
The sin of disobedience is a terrible sin. Nothing hinders the children of God from fulfilling their purpose in life like disobedience. It has been confirmed that one of the consequences of disobedience is the crash of destiny; that is to say, disobedience prevents the fulfilment of God’s plan and purpose for an individual. The greatest frustration in life is borne out of intention(willingness) without corresponding action(obedience). Most Christians come to Church, get excited and feel good about the messages preached but do nothing about it. Some just refuse to obey the simple divine instructions given to them by the man they call Pastor, so nothing changes around them or in their lives. Never respect anyone enough to agree to disobey God. There are many people who have disobeyed God out of respect for people. Adam respected Eve his wife and ate the forbidden fruit she gave him whereas God commanded that he should not eat it. Remember, delayed obedience is disobedience, adjusted obedience is disobedience, selective obedience is disobedience, partial obedience is disobedience and no obedience is also disobedience.
Beloved, obedience is the easiest and shortest access to your breakthrough. Do not agree with anyone to disobey God, even if it is your husband, wife, family member or boss at your place of work. Make God the priority of your life above everyone and everything. Examine yourself today and repent from every act of disobedience in your life. You cannot give God your life and your story remain the same! I will end with Matthew 21:6 and the Scripture says “And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.” As you obey and serve God, I see God cause you to enjoy undeniable prosperity and all round pleasure in Jesus Name!
O God, help me to obey You unconditionally in Jesus’ Name.
