Psalm 81:10 (KJV)
I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
The Scripture clearly instructs us to boldly express our needs and desires, allowing God to fulfill and affirm our declarations. As children of God, we must actively open our mouths wide, for it is through our boldness in speaking that we invite His divine provision into our lives. We cannot expect to experience God’s goodness while remaining silent; our words are a crucial catalyst for His blessings. A closed mouth leaves us vulnerable to oppression and turmoil, as God cannot confirm what we fail to declare. Therefore, it is imperative that we confidently voice our faith and speak out, for this is the key to unlocking divine supply and support. Numbers 14:28 says, “Now tell them this: As surely as I live, declares the Lord, I will do to you the very things I heard you say.” Whatever we declare to God is what His Hand faithfully brings to fruition in our lives. His Hand will manifest wonders that align perfectly with our spoken words. Our declarations are powerful; they deliver our salvation and unlock the door to supernatural abundance. What we speak into His Ears sets the stage for the extraordinary!
The imagery of opening one’s mouth wide symbolizes a strong trust and dependence on God, reflecting a willingness to receive divine guidance and nourishment. Just as a baby bird opens its mouth wide, expecting to be fed by its parent, we are encouraged to approach God with faith, knowing He will provide for our needs. God’s identity as our Savior and Provider urges us to trust Him fully and to rely on His abundant blessings. There is undeniable power in our words that guarantees victory in life’s battles. Jabez’s life was initially marked by pain, dishonor, lack, and shame, and his name, given by his mother, did little to change that. However, he took charge of his destiny by earnestly opening his mouth wide to God, who responded and transformed his life. God enlarged Jabez’s territory, shifting him from a state of misery to one of honor (1 Chronicles 4:10). The same powerful God who changed Jabez’s story is ready to change ours for the better. When Jacob faced difficulties in his life, he boldly turned to God for blessings, fiercely wrestling in prayer until he received what he sought (Genesis 32:24). We, too, can seek transformation and take hold of our blessings through faith and determination. No wonder Matthew 7:7-8 says, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” The Scripture says to ask, and we shall receive. The God who delivered the Israelites from Egypt remains the same unchanging, loving provider. Therefore, we must turn to Him for true satisfaction rather than relying on temporary things.
Beloved, open your mouth wide to change your destiny. Destiny changes when responsibility for change is accepted. When you make up your mind for change to occur, open your mouth about it, then the change will happen. Begin your day by opening your heart in prayer, asking God to meet your needs and to fill your life with His blessings. Trust that He is faithful and will provide for you, even when circumstances seem challenging. Ask God for guidance and take steps forward, trusting He will equip and provide for you. Today, open your mouth wide to expect God’s Goodness, and you won’t be disappointed. Trust that God is working behind the scenes, for He is Faithful to His Word. Spend time in worship, Bible reading, or meditation, allowing God to fill your spiritual hunger rather than seeking fulfillment from temporary things. As you boast in the Lord, He will boost you till you overtake in life. Remember, anything you say becomes established, so open your mouth and talk big.
O Lord, I come to You today, humbly asking You to fill my mouth with Your Goodness in Jesus’ Name.
