Psalm 33:1(KJV)
Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: For praise is comely for the upright.
The Psalmist reminds us to rejoice in the Lord, for praise is beautiful for the upright. To be righteous in the sight of God is to live a holy life and to trust in the LORD. Saved by the sacrificial blood of Christ, we have a great reason to be happy because we are on God’s winning side. Those counted as righteous in Christ are to live a lifestyle of praising, honoring, and worshiping our God. In other words, the upright has the cause and duty to rejoice in the Lord and praise Him because He is worthy of praise and worship. Psalm 149:3-4 says, “Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” Praise Him in the dance and make a joyful noise to the Lord in praise, and He will beautify our lives. So, praise can beautify our lives, and worship can make us look younger than our age.
Praising God is remembering and expressing our joy, giving thanks for all God has done, is doing, and will do for us. It invites His Presence and redirects our hearts and words to focus on Him. Praising God helps us focus on His ability and opens the door to possibilities. Our praise to God excites and motivates Him; it gives God pleasure. Praise destroys the ugliness around our lives and replaces it with beauty and attractiveness. Praise is a weapon that can turn the dreadful things in our lives into wonderful and delightful things. It is a weapon of privilege that God has put in our hands to make living glorious for us and with which we humiliate the devil and his agents. It is our dose against the enemy. Praise launches us into a life of endless miracles and makes us all-around winners in the battles of life. When we live in praise, we carry authority with us because we have the backing of Heaven. David said in Psalm 34:1, “I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” That is, whether, in sorrow or happiness, plenty or lack, life or death, he will continue to bless the Lord. Deuteronomy 10:21 says, “He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen.” If we want to see God back us up, then no reason is strong enough to weigh us down but to live a life of endless praise to Him.
Beloved, develop the habit of praising God, and He will reveal His Glory and Power in your life. Choosing to praise Him in the middle of difficult circumstances and to thank Him for the ways He’s been faithful opens the door for His Presence to come and for His Power to begin working on your behalf. Always take stock of God’s blessings and goodness and thank Him with a heart of worship. Give thanks for what He did yesterday, and it will compel Him to act today. Praise God for Who He is, what He has done, and what He is yet to do. Whether you’re happy or not, praise Him all the same. Praise God when you don’t feel like it because it is key to handling battles and situations you have no capacity to handle; it is key to tackling unforeseen confrontations. You may not have the voice to sing but anything that carries joy, even if it is noise, is praise. So, make a joyful noise to God, and your life will never be the same. Today, put on the garment of praise! So long as God is the source of goodness in your life, singing praises to Him will be as natural as your breathing. Remember, if the devil cannot stop your praise, he cannot hold your wondrous things. Praise the Lord!
O Lord, I will praise at all times for the great and terrifying things You have done, You are doing and will do in my life in Jesus’ Name.
