Prepare Your Ways Before the Lord

2 Chronicles 27:6 (KJV)

So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the Lord his God.

It is evident from our anchored Scripture that preparation before the Lord brings success and greatness. The level of success which we attain in life is determined by our degree of preparation. Preparation is becoming ready for what is desired and it precedes the readiness of something for use or the engagement of one in an endeavor. Preparation is the platform for the manifestations of life’s opportunities. It paves way for breaking new grounds. Adequate preparation will always receive glorious manifestations. The truth is that unprepared future can never profit us. Because every journey begins with preparation. Part of making preparations means talking and acting like it is going to happen.

Preparing our ways before the Lord is a secret of might or power. Spiritual preparation determines the results we get in the physical because the physical is controlled by the spiritual. We understand that Jotham, king of Judah, became mighty because he prepared his ways before the Lord. He did not just plan and jump into action, no, but asked God for His approval. Genesis 41:14 says “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.” Joseph prepared for his day of freedom even in prison. Before he met Pharaoh, he prepared himself by shaving his hair and changed also his clothes. Before David could manifest, he rehearsed in the field with his sheep. He fought with lions and bears before he could face Goliath. David was already a young man of warfare by the time he fought Goliath. When opportunity meet preparation the outcome is celebrations.

The challenge today is that most people wait for opportunity to arrive before they get ready or prepared. To wait for opportunity to arrive before getting prepared is a waste of waiting time and frustration. No one waits till it is rainy season or when it is raining before roofing their house. Smith Wigglesworth once said, ‘Never get ready, always live ready’. The best place to arrange and prepare what we are to do for the day is at the place of prayer. At the place of prayer, we connect wisdom, power, direction, and Divine idea for what to do in life.

Beloved to become mighty is to prepare your way before the Lord. Prepare for your next level and opportunity before they come. It is preparation that precede promotion. Do not wait for your opportunity to meet you unprepared, it is the worst thing that can happen to you. It is like starting a journey into the day before knowing where you are going. An opportunity is coming your way this month, do not wait till it comes before you prepare. Get ready for Divine visitation. Be like Joseph and prepare yourself even in prison, hardship or affliction. Go out always expecting good things to happen to you. And even if it doesn’t happen, don’t be disappointed for expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off. See your dreams and desires come to pass! Today, receive the wisdom, consciousness and ability to prepare for opportunity before it arrives in Jesus’ Name. Live wisely daily! Remember, it took Joseph thirteen years of preparation before he became the Prime Minister.

O LORD, help me to prepare my ways before You, I receive the grace to live ready daily in Jesus’ Name.
