Redeeming the Time

Proverbs 10:5(KJV)
He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.
Time is an essential and cherished asset of life. There is time for everything, a time to work and a time to rest. It is important to know that investment into time equals fulfilment of destiny. Your value for time determines your worth in life. When time is passing and it is not utilized with profitable activity, life is being wasted. Therefore, it is important to redeem the time that has been lost and prevent further loss of time.
Some are over resting instead of making good use of time. Ephesians 5:16 says “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” The loss of time is an irredeemable loss in this life. It has been confirmed that the easiest thing to waste in life is time and not money. While some people waste money, resources and opportunities, others waste time. Many people waste their time by sitting behind the television to watch unedifying movies and ungodly shows, sleeping from night till morning, playing aimless computer games, hanging out with aimless friends, addicted to watching sports endlessly, and so on. While the sportsman is receiving his money, you are wasting your life by being addicted to watching him. Don’t live this day unfocused, undisciplined and unmotivated. Know that to waste time is to waste life and a wasted life is a wasted destiny.
It is a tragedy to waste your time, what a shame to see a young man or woman sleep away his or her hour of opportunity. Many have lost their hour of opportunities in this life by closing the open door on themselves. They turn to sleep when the opportunity comes thinking that when they wake up from their sleep that hour of opportunity will still be sitting around for them. There are many who are regretting today in their old age because they wasted their time when they were young.
Beloved, my counsel is, spend your time in studying the Word of God, improve your mentality by reading, spend time with your family, spend time to upgrade yourself and spend time to win souls. Live a life of urgency, for urgency affects destiny. Make good use of your time and avoid the spell of time wastage by ensuring that there is always a vision in front of you. As the year is coming to an end let’s redeem the time, maximizing our lives by doing the right thing with our time. Get focused, get organized and set your goals.
O LORD, help me not to waste my hour of opportunity, give me the strength to make good use of my time on earth in Jesus’ Name.
