2 Corinthians 9:6-8(NLT)
Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
The principle of sowing and reaping is a universal truth ordained by God. The law of seed time and harvest is the law that launches men into the realm of financial fortune. Seedtime and harvest are life principle and it provides the gateway to financial dominion. It applies not only in agriculture, but also in the area of giving. Despite the fact that the Lord promises an abundant harvest for those who give generously, many Christians still struggle with giving. Some fear that they won’t have enough if they give. Others, pulled by greed, are unwilling to sacrifice pleasures and comforts. Whether it’s money, possessions, knowledge, an emotion such as love or hate, prayers, or our time, we will reap a harvest of whatever we give.
Those who succumb to their fears or stinginess will miss out on the great harvest God wants to give them. What you sow determines what you reap. Proverbs 11:24-25(TLB) says “It is possible to give away and become richer! It is also possible to hold on too tightly and lose everything. Yes, the liberal man shall be rich! By watering others, he waters himself.” The Scripture says that in giving generously, we will have an abundance of both provision for our needs (bread) and resources to continue our generosity (seed). When Abraham was willing to give his only son Isaac for an offering, God was moved beyond boundaries to bless him. Isaac planted and he harvested a hundred times more grain than he planted, for the Lord blessed him. Many people like to hoard knowledge, the moment they know something that can impact others positively, they hide it and refuse to pass it on. Know this, the more knowledge you hoard, the mediocre you become.
Beloved, God’s covenant remains intact as long as the sun and the moon keep showing up in their season, no circumstance can stop God’s covenant from having effect. God will prove Himself in the life of the giver and the tither and will make all grace to abound for them. Although we have been given the promise of a bountiful harvest, it will be realized only by those who sow. In following God’s plan for giving, you can be free of worry because the One who guarantees you a harvest is also the omnipotent Lord who is able to produce it. Jesus said it is more blessing to give than receive. Have you sown a seed? Your harvest will come. Sow quality seeds, only what you want to reap. As you have sown every financial stress in your life is terminated now in Jesus’ Name. It is wrong to expect a harvest from where you have not sown. Know that, your seed is not a financial donation to ‘help’ God, the church or a ministry but a spiritual transaction that provokes the release of financial fortune for your life.
O LORD, help me to sow quality seeds in my walk with You in Jesus’ Name.
