Seek The Lord In Humility

Zephaniah 2:3(KJV)

Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord’s anger.

Our anchored Scripture admonishes us to search diligently for the Lord and regard Him as the principal necessity of our lives. The prophet Zephaniah reminds us that those who seek righteousness and humility will find the Lord on the day of His anger. So, only those who seek God in humility and are righteous will escape His judgment and make the promised land of Heaven. In Matthew 5:3, Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Seeking the Lord is living intentionally with our dependence on Him by being open to His Guidance, Wisdom, and Strength. Psalm 105:4 says, “Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.” Seeking the Lord and desperately longing for His Face and Presence strengthens our faith. It is written in Matthew 6:33, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” We can be grateful, knowing that when we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, we will find Him, and He will supply our needs

Our God is undeniably merciful but also a God of judgment. He has set aside a day to hold the world accountable for its wickedness. The only sure path to escape this impending judgment is to seek the Lord earnestly by calling upon Him continually. Isaiah 55:6-7 says, “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” Mercy and pardon await every repentant sinner who comes to the Lord in genuine repentance. He is the God of a second chance. He does not want to see the sinner roast in hellfire. It is written in Psalm 51:17, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” We are to turn away from our disobedient actions, admit our mistakes, and turn towards God with a broken and contrite heart to receive forgiveness and pardon. The condition of our hearts is very vital to God. In God’s eyes, it is not beauty or handsomeness that count, but our hearts (1 Samuel 16:7). That means He is more pleased with someone with a heart toward Him.

Beloved, seek the face of the Lord continually, and let this be your daily pursuit. No matter what you are doing or where you are, seek the Lord, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, with your whole heart. In doing this, you are engaging in the most relevant activity that transforms life in all areas. Resist pride and stubbornness, and seek God’s righteousness in humility. Return to Jesus today, and let Him cover you with His love. Today, make knowing Him your number one priority. Yield yourself to Him and let Him shape your character. Serve Him with all your might, and let your heart be perfect towards Him. Draw near to Him daily by prayer and studying His Word. Seek Him by giving Him your time and attention. Seek Him in true surrender and adoration, and over time, you will know Him on a deeper level as He restores your fortunes. Spend time in prayer, asking Him to help you cultivate a spirit of humility and righteousness. Look for opportunities to serve others selflessly and to live in a way that honors God. Trust that as you seek Him, you will find shelter and guidance in His presence. Embrace humility, pursue righteousness, and find peace in knowing that God is your refuge and strength. Remember, God desires a person with a contrite and sincere heart. He does not delight in sending you to hell. So, be honest with Him when you fall into temptation and repent.

O Lord, I receive the grace to continually seek You, help me to look and live for Your coming in Jesus’ Name.
