Strive To Enter

Luke 13:24(KJV)

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

From our anchored Scripture, Jesus explained that once the Master shut the door, anybody trying to enter would not be allowed, stressing that there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The painful reality is that many believers shall be left behind when the Master comes for His own. In Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus said, “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” The Lord told His listeners to enter through the narrow gate, for the wide gate and broad way is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. The broad way allows adultery, fornication, lying, cheating, evil, and wickedness. Furthermore, many are following that way which leads to hell with satan. Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” The way of death looks attractive, permitting every sinful load and luggage. In other words, while one right step can lead to eternal pleasure and treasure, one wrong step can lead to a significant crash of destiny.

Life is all about choices and their consequences. On our journey through life, we face many alternatives about which road to travel. Many pathways seem promising and attractive, but only one is the pathway of life. God has given us the freedom to choose the right or wrong way, but He expects us to choose the right way. The small and narrow gate is the RIGHT WAY, and it is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. That is the straight and narrow leads to eternal life with God. The way to eternal life belongs to the ones redeemed by Jesus. These have crucified their flesh to sin. In other words, only those who manifest the fruits of the spirit can go through the narrow gate. The narrow way is for those walking in the Holy Spirit, those who are no longer fulfilling the lust of the flesh. It is for those who know God through Jesus Christ and have lived for Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Those who enter by the narrow gate of faith in Christ find the peace and joy of a relationship with Him, which exactly satisfies the heart. Christians must prioritize leading a righteous life and steer clear of sinful behaviors, as emphasized in Galatians 5:19-21. No matter how small the sins may seem, those who persist in living a sinful life won’t be taken to their eternal home when the Master returns. Hence, repenting and making amends before it’s too late is imperative. So, follow the narrow gate, and the future will be secure and remarkable.

Beloved, Jesus calls you to travel the road of discipleship and obedience to God’s Word—to follow Him instead of the crowd. Don’t lose sight of the path you are following is so narrow that it cannot accommodate the masses. Turn to Him in faith that you may enter through the narrow gate, for Jesus Christ is the true and only way to life. To find Him, you must humble yourself, turn from your sins and accept Him as Lord and Savior. The choice is yours today, and your choice will ultimately determine where you will spend eternity. As you ponder the road ahead, may God give you wisdom and courage to follow His way—the road of life. It will make all the difference for you! Choose to walk the road of life with Jesus! Choose to do the right thing. Choose God’s way. Be one of the few that finds the small gate leading to the road of eternal life. Actively pursue God’s Word and live by it obediently. Be mindful of the move of the Holy Spirit and ensure that you are never against His work. Remember, the narrow way leads to eternal life with the Father in Heaven.

O Lord, give me the eyes to see the narrow road that leads to life and help me to follow it in Jesus’ Precious Name.
