Jonah 2:9(KJV)
But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord.
Thanksgiving and praise open the door to the demonstration of God’s Power in our lives. Thanksgiving is appreciating God from our hearts for His goodness and benefits towards us. It is an act of gratitude. Thanksgiving guarantees deliverance from all kinds of troubles. When we thank God from our hearts, we provoke Him to deliver us from all manner of demonic attacks against our lives. It is written in Psalm 32:7 “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah”. God becomes our hiding place and a place of refuge when we thank and praise Him. As victory chants go up, we receive freedom from all limitations, deliverances, yokes are broken and healings happen.
Praising God and giving Him thanks bring about Divine intervention in our circumstances. It has been confirmed that no devil can hold down anyone who is thankful and praiseful. When God instructed Jonah to head north and deliver a warning to the city of Nineveh, he sailed the opposite instead. Jonah demonstrated his relentless stubbornness. He opted to take a swim rather than submit to the Lord and was eventually swallowed by a whale. By the reason of his affliction, Jonah acknowledged the Lord, promised to thank and praise Him with his voice and pay his vows. He confirmed that salvation is of the Lord. That is, Jonah remained in the belly of the whale until he began to offer thanksgiving to God. And the Bible says the Lord commanded the whale to vomit Jonah out to a dry land. In other words, nothing happened until Jonah offered a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God. Our God loves sacrifices, particularly a sacrifice of thanksgiving. No wonder the Psalmist says in Psalm 116:17 “I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.” Sacrificial thanksgiving glorifies God and proves to Him that our faith in Christ has spiritual substance.
Beloved, an offering of thanksgiving and praise instead of opposition and complaining opens the door to God’s Power. Any limitation affliction or prison holding you will vomit you by the power of praise and thanksgiving. Make the choice to thank Him in order to experience His Almightiness in your life. Giving thanks to God is not always a very easy thing to do, particularly if you have been going through an outbreak of negative and very sad events or experiences. However, you are to give thanks in all things for that is the will of God for you. It is when you fill your heart and mouth with thanksgiving and praise that you will come out of that grave of poverty, barrenness, stagnation, sickness, lack and want. Thank God for what you have, where you are and where He is taking you to. Thank Him for what He did yesterday in your life in order to access what He will do today. Adore and magnify Him always with a grateful heart. I see unprecedented blessings coming your way this season as you engage the force of praise and thanksgiving!
