Thanksgiving Guarantees Restoration

Jeremiah 33:11(AMP)

The [sound of the] voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the [song-filled] voice of those who say, “Give praise and thanks to the Lord of hosts, For the Lord is good; For His [steadfast] lovingkindness (mercy) endures forever”; and of those who bring a thank offering into the house of the Lord. For I will restore the fortunes of the land as they were at first,’ says the Lord.

Thanksgiving as a lifestyle will establish us in a ceaseless flow of signs and wonders. From our anchored Scripture there is a clear connection between thanksgiving and restoration. The Lord promises to restore the fortunes of the land because He is always faithful to those who offer sacrifices of praise and thanks. Thanksgiving is a spiritual action that guarantees restoration. It is a junction that connects the children of God to the possibilities of God. When we offer thanksgiving to God, it accelerates the manifestation of our expectations. That is, thanksgiving provokes God to confirm both His Faithfulness and His Promise.

Thanksgiving gives us the opportunity to demonstrate the power of God through restoration. In John 11:41-42, Jesus looked up to Heaven and said, “Father, thank you for hearing me. (You always hear me, of course, but I said it because of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me).” When Jesus was to raise Lazarus from the dead He did not complain or beg, He gave thanks to the Father and the miracle happened. In other words, thanksgiving brings back alive anything dead in our lives. Anything can happen when we give God thanks, because whatever is available with God is accessible when we give Him thanks. As believers, we need the kind of Spirit of thanksgiving that operated in Jesus, so that our dead position can transform into life. When we stand in front of an impossible situation or problem, we should say with deep hope and trust: “Father, thank You for Your Goodness.” In spite of what the bystanders believe or the doubters do or the scorners say, we should always offer thanks and praise to the One Who has shown us great grace and glorious mercy in the hardest days of our lives.

Beloved, learn to always give God thanks for no man prevails by his strength. It is only those who are thankful and praiseful to God that receives His restoration. So, thank and praise Him always for Who He is, for what He’s done in your life and for the mighty works He is about to do. As you thank Him for all things, you remind Him of the things you do not have. Today, take stock of God’s blessings and goodness because if you cannot see what He has done in your life, you stop Him from doing anything more. Fill your heart and mouth with thanks and praises to God and you will come out of that grave of poverty, barrenness, stagnation, sickness, lack and want. As you thank the Almighty God today, may the resurrection power of God that brought Lazarus out of death when Jesus stood at his tomb and gave thanks to the Father, bring back everything that seems dead in your life. Remember, it was thanksgiving that restored the life of Lazarus from death.

O Lord, I thank You for the power of thanksgiving and its benefits, to You be all the Glory in Jesus’ Name.
