1 Samuel 16:13(KJV)
Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So, Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.
Before the Anointing of David as king of Israel in 1 Samuel 16:11-13, he was ordinary like any other person. But after the Anointing came on him, he received supernatural grace to accomplish great things for God. The choice of David was neither an accident nor a coincidence. In 1 Samuel 13:14, the Bible says this concerning him “…. The LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart…” It reveals that there was a solemn search that led God to David in the wilderness. David was a forgotten boy by his family at the backside of the desert, but God never abandoned him because his heart was after God. Even when Prophet Samuel asked his father, Jesse, to arrange all his sons for a king to be chosen, he prepared everyone for the occasion except David. His father overlooked him. But the Anointing brought David out and made him a king. If not for the Anointing, he would have been unimportant forever. Those who neglected and rejected him accepted and celebrated him.
The Anointing is the embodiment of the Spirit of God on a person. It is God’s ability in us that makes us do the extraordinary with ease. The Anointing usually triggers supernatural breakthroughs, breaking impossible barriers, triumphing where others travail. It brings people out of personal limitations, conspiracies, satanic orchestrations, and manipulations of the occult or witchcraft. If we are willing to serve God faithfully, it doesn’t matter where they keep us; our portion and place in God cannot go to another person. When the Anointing comes on us, we can fulfill life and destiny. That is, the Anointing makes us escape the struggles of life, to operate extraordinarily in life. Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Jesus was only able to achieve all He did because of the Anointing. The Anointing is the power of God that causes the immediate manifestation of miracles and makes the carriers do what is humanly impossible. In other words, there is power in the Anointing. The Anointing gives hope to the hopeless, heals the sick, and life to the spiritually dead. One of the requirements for continuous empowerment is stewardship. Serving God entitles us to the Anointing. Our level of commitment and service determines our level of Anointing. In 1 Samuel 16:7, But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.” Therefore, it is clear that qualification for the Anointing strictly depends on the condition of our heart towards God.
Beloved, the Anointing is key to miracles. What you need is more Anointing to tackle the battles of this life. The Anointing will bring what is inside of you to perform the supernatural. When God anoints you, you will experience unbelievable accomplishments. In other words, you can do all things through the Anointing, provided you are willing to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Today, ensure that you maintain a solid relationship with God. Instead of struggling to compete and contend with men, give your life to the service of God, and the Spirit of God will give you distinction amid opposition. Don’t hold yourself or anything you have back from serving God. Go all the way with God. Remember, the Anointing makes a person stand out even in the face of confrontations. So, give it all it takes to receive the Anointing. Desire the continuous outpouring of the Anointing of God on your life.
O LORD, I ask that You make me the candidate for Your Anointing, give me the grace to maintain a righteous life in Jesus’ Name.
