Proverbs 28:20(KJV)
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Faithfulness means the state of being faithful to God or man. It is being uncompromising or diligent in performing our duties, being true to our word, or being steady in our commitment, honesty, and affection. Faithfulness is undivided loyalty and submission. When we are faithful, our dedication and submission are undivided. We are faithful when we are trustworthy and dependable. Being faithful means going above and beyond what is required of us. It involves standing up against any immoral, corrupt, or questionable actions in our personal lives, relationships, or workplaces. Our anchor Scripture confirms that a faithful man or woman will abound with the blessing. That is, faithfulness is a trigger for the blessings of God. In other words, a faithful man does not beg to be blessed because to be faithful is to be blessed. It is important to know that faithfulness is one of the most rewarding virtues.
Faithfulness is one of the scarce virtues on earth today. Proverbs 20:6 says, “Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” Faithfulness is one of the uncommon principles on the face of the earth. However, a faithful man, who is true to God and man, true to his work, makes good his promises, fulfills his contracts, abides by the obligations he lays himself under, be it great or less, and throughout the whole course of his life, will God show His approval by sending prosperity. Matthew 25:21 says, “His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” Only the faithful ever become fruitful in the Kingdom because faithfulness is what births fruitfulness. One faithful over a few things becomes the lord over many things. God gives the faithful the privilege of handling greater things. God is ready to bless anyone who will not change his character because of the blessing. Some were better Christians when they had nothing, when they did not have enough or no money. These would not miss church services or even attend church on non-service days. But when God blessed them with a few thousand, they started giving excuses for not serving God or coming to church. Very pathetic!
Beloved, it pays to be faithful, for faithfulness does have rewards. Not only in this life but surely in the life to come. Your commitment to the things of God will bring you blessings. Continue to be faithful in everything, for God, who pays according to your deeds, will bless you. God will bless anyone who will use the blessing to promote His Kingdom agenda. So, be faithful always, whether for God or man. Be faithful in your service and devotion to God, in your giving to the things of God(Your giving is proof of your love to God), and in soul-winning. Be faithful to your duty and your spouse, for any man or woman who is not loyal to his/her spouse is cursed. Remain faithful even when the devil or people give you every reason to be unfaithful. Be consistent in character and live up to the expectation of the people around you. Today, examine your life and identify areas of inconsistencies both in your character and in discharging your responsibilities. May the grace to remain Faithful come on you today in Jesus’ Mighty Name. Remember, God blesses a faithful person by committing greater things into his hands.
O LORD, I receive the grace to be faithful in all things. Cause me to dwell in Your Blessing in Jesus’ Name.
