Matthew 22:14(KJV)
For many are called, but few are chosen.
There is something special about the call of God from generation to generation. The call is an invitation to live with Christ, serve God, and experience the fulfillment that brings to life. An invitation to be Jesus’ disciples, to follow in His footsteps. And ultimately, an invitation to spend eternity with Him! The few chosen allows God to direct their lives and rule over their affairs. The call of God is for all believers, but the chosen ones know God, respond to their calling by faith, and can’t turn their backs. God calls us into a life of service and usefulness that brings Glory to Him. He calls us into the sweetest fellowship possible on this Earth, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit! Knowing God is essential to hearing His Voice. 2 Peter 1:10 says, “Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.” To receive the grace of following Jesus and living by His teachings, one must consciously decide to walk in His footsteps. Only through this active choice can one produce the fruit of virtues.
As children of God, we must be willing to answer God’s call. The level we allow God to have His way in our life shows how much we trust Him. Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David, Peter, and Paul had something in common. They all answered the call of God. Noah answered God’s call to build the ark. Moses answered God’s call to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. Peter also answered the call into the office of apostleship. God’s message is revealed to many through His creation, conscience, and preaching of the Word. However, only a select few truly understand and answer the call. It is important to note that not everyone who hears the Gospel is receptive to it. Only a select few possess the necessary inclination to receive it indeed. While many may listen to the message, some lack interest or even display outright antagonism toward God, but none can enter on their own accord. God must draw the hearts of those who come, or they will not arrive. God chose us to be holy and blameless before He created the world. Through His love, God predestined us to be His adopted sons through Jesus Christ, per His will and pleasure. It is all to praise His glorious grace, which He freely gave us through the One He loves. Salvation is solely by the will and pleasure of God and for His glory. Romans 8:28-30 says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Beloved, trust that God will never leave you or forsake you. You are called for a higher purpose beyond what you can understand now. Believe that you are called, giving the diligence to make your calling and election sure, and you won’t have to fall. Know that when you answer the call, your reward in Heaven and on Earth is more significant than anything you can imagine. No one answers the CALL, and their lives remain the same. If you refuse to give up, you’ll overcome every challenge and receive God’s best for your life. The greater your service, the greater your reward will be. Therefore, serve Him diligently! Accept the invitation and His blessings and benefits will follow. May you not refuse His call today for salvation and service! Today, be open to hearing the divine call within your heart. Recognize the power of God’s work within you, which has brought about your salvation. Allow yourself to feel profound awe and reverence as you contemplate this truth.
O Lord, thank You for calling me and choosing me to embark on this journey You have placed before me. Empower me in Jesus’ Name.
