Psalm 118:24(KJV)
This is the day which the LORD hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.
In Psalm 118, David talked about the day of salvation in which Jesus, the stone the builders rejected, would become the chief cornerstone. He didn’t live to see that, but he said it because that day was coming. He rejoiced in advance of its arrival because the One who promised it is faithful to complete it. David discovered the secret to living. He decided and declared that since the Lord had made each day and it was a gift to him, he would enjoy it and be glad. No wonder he said in Psalm 23:6 says, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” David created the atmosphere for a great day with God’s Word, knowing that the goodness and mercy of God would follow him for the rest of his life.
In our journey on earth, how we welcome each new day plays a vital role in our attitude toward life. We can meet each day with worry and fret or gladness, excitement, and anticipation. When we choose to be glad, we have chosen a happy and victorious life. True joy is never dependent on our circumstances. Although we know this, it might be hard to walk out every day in excitement. However, learning to choose joy in hard times takes effort and action, requiring our hearts to be set on God. There will be plenty of opportunities to lose our joy or happiness. But if we will live in victory or thrive the way God intends, we have got to decide to enjoy our lives. Every day is God’s gift to us. And it is God’s will for us to go through it rejoicing and with gladness of heart. So, no matter what we face, we can still believe in God’s goodness and love, for they carry us through the most difficult seasons. It is the Lord who has made and planned the day for us. He is faithful and will take care of the day so that we will not be tempted and tried beyond our ability. It is the day the Lord has made we shall endure, suffer, and bear everything with joy, fully believing that God is in control, for He is working everything together for our good.
Beloved, this is the day the Lord has made; rejoice and be glad in it. Don’t wait for the mountain to move or the crooked place to be made straight before you can start rejoicing. Regardless of how things appear today, God is greater than any situation you find yourself in; every day you’re alive is a divine gift from God. Even though it has gone unfavorable before, it can be completely new and glorious today. God’s the reason you can live with joy in the battles of life and have peace that is unexplainable to the world. He’s with you and will never leave or fail you. His love covers you; He gives you the strength to face every trial and obstacle with courage and grace. Therefore, rejoice, for this is the day the Lord has made. So, choose to honor the Lord right now by choosing to enjoy your life. When you’re afraid, frustrated, or anxious about your thoughts, choose to be happy despite your circumstances every given day. Today, start celebrating the great things God has done for you, for He can do exceedingly abundantly above all that you could ever ask, think, or imagine! Cultivate the habit of worshipping and praising the Lord every morning. Remember, this is the day that the Lord has made! Rejoice and be glad in it! As you choose joy, you are tapping into His strength which will carry you to victory all the days of your life!
O Lord, thank You for this day You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it in Jesus’ Name.
