Acts 2:21 (KJV)
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
In this powerful moment at Pentecost, Peter’s bold proclamation carried a revolutionary message: salvation is not reserved for a select few but is extended to everyone. The use of the word “whosoever” shatters any barrier of exclusivity. It reassures us that, no matter our past, background, or how far we may have strayed, the door to a restored relationship with God is always open. It is clear from the above that the Name of the Lord is not just an ordinary Name but a Mighty Name that brings deliverance and safety when called on. Apostle Paul states in Romans 10:13, “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Calling on the Name of the Lord when we feel overwhelmed is a powerful action that will deliver us. The Name of Jesus not only electrifies our spirit but also eradicates the works of the devil. It serves as a shield, protecting the children of God from any harm. At the mere mention of His Name, demons are compelled to flee. Philippians 2:10 says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth” There is no other god beside Him, and none can deliver out of His Hand.
The Almighty God is the foundation upon which we can build our lives. In the Name of the Lord, our safety is assured. He is our Refuge, strong and steadfast. He is powerful to deliver, capable of saving, the Mighty Warrior in battle, and the Lord of Hosts. Proverbs 18:10 says, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.” As we embrace the Strong Tower, we find absolute safety from the arrows of the wicked and the storms of adversity. When we call upon Him, His Power can quell even the fiercest superstorms of life. No matter how furious a witch or wizard may become, they cannot penetrate the Strong Tower of the Lord. This assurance places us securely in God’s Hands, rendering us untouchable by the devil. In Judges 9:50-55, we see a powerful example when Abimelech assaulted the city of Thebez. God’s people surged toward the tower at the city’s center and ascended to its heights. While they were securely sheltered within its walls, Abimelech continued his assault, poised to burn down the gate and launch an attack. However, from the tower’s top, a determined woman hurled a stone that struck Abimelech squarely in the skull, ending his reign of terror. There will always be an Abimelech trying to challenge us, but by positioning ourselves in the Strong Tower, we emerge safe and victorious every time.
Beloved, call on the Name of the Lord, and you will never be rejected or turned down. The Name of Jesus brings unmatched salvation and deliverance to every child of God. There is unwavering hope for your deliverance because there is a Mighty Savior and Deliverer who is not only able but also willing to rescue you; his Name is Jesus. All power in Heaven and on earth belongs to Him, and everything is subject to His Authority; even demons quaver before Him. When He speaks, demons must obey, and at the mere mention of His Name, they flee, bringing freedom to those who call upon Him. Stand firm and use the Name of the Lord to confront the battles you face today and watch them crumble before your eyes. Now is the time to declare that Name with confidence. Live a holy life today so that you can dwell securely within the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. You must know the Name of the Lord in times of peace so that when challenges arise, He will answer you with power.
