The Fear of the Lord.

Proverbs 9:10(KJV)
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and it is a principal thing in life. ‘Fear,’ in this context, is not being afraid. It signifies respect and reverence to God and His Word. That means we should have a reverential honor and respect for God. Until we fear the Lord we cannot be considered as wise. We are wise when we set everything else in life aside in order to seek Him. We are wise when we worship and praise Him and give Him everything that we are. We are wise when we take time to thank and honor Him. We can never know God beyond the fear of God at work in our lives because the secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him and He will show them His covenant. The fear of God is also the guarantee that you will live peacefully in this world and enter eternity in Heaven.
It is not enough to have a purpose for living, but much more, to have the right purpose for it makes fulfilment. The right purpose is to fear, love, walk with God and serve Him because God only guides those who obey and serve Him faithfully. It doesn’t matter how much fame or possession we may have, the Bible consider us as foolish men, until the fear of God abides in our hearts. And where the fear of the Lord is lacking, access to wisdom is never guaranteed. It is written in Ecclesiastes 8:1 “How wonderful to be wise, to understand things, to be able to analyze them and interpret them. Wisdom lights up a man’s face, softening its hardness.” It is clear that the way of wisdom is the way of stardom. Wisdom makes stars, in other words to be wise is to rise and to rise is to shine. The wisdom of God is behind the making of kingdom stars. Throughout the Bible, there are several men who walked with God, lived very outstanding lives and made impact in their generations by wisdom. Joseph feared God and was a man of wisdom who was established in stardom in the land of Egypt. This same wisdom made Daniel a star in the land of Babylon because he feared God and was very dedicated to the things of God.
Beloved, if your desire is to access wisdom from God, then it is the fear of the Lord that gives you access. Make up your mind to go deeper with God, because the deeper you get to God, the more wisdom you acquire and the more outstanding your life becomes. Make reading, studying of the Word and praying a priority in life. As you continue to put God first in all you do, you will increase in wisdom and discernment thereby moving forward into the life of blessing He has in store for you. Choose wisdom today by honoring God the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Put Him first in your heart, mind, emotions, actions and all you do. Today, seek godly wisdom and don’t be lawless in the name of grace, because grace does not indulge in lawlessness. Scripture says he that wins a soul is wise, let soul winning be your goal as a child of God this year and beyond. Remember, God is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
O Lord, show me Your ways that I may walk with You and acknowledge You in everything I do in Jesus’ Name.
