1 Corinthians 12:1(KJV)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.
The desire of God is that none of us will be ignorant concerning the things of the Spirit. For God is Spirit, and when we come to believe in Christ Jesus, He gives His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to indwell and infill us for the good works on this earth. Thus, for us to function fully in the things concerning the Spirit, we have to learn what He is teaching us through His Holy Written Word! Ignorance of these things will only result in our lives been dried and unattractive to the world. For lack of knowledge of spiritual truths, God’s people perish. That is why it is very important for us to know these things concerning the Spirit. One of the broad categories of these spiritual things is the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, through the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. As you learn about the gifts, remember that the Spirit of God is the source of these gifts, and they are manifested to bring God glory. The point is that all these true manifestations are through the Holy Spirit, not by our own flesh! We understand that even though there are various spiritual gifts, they are all given for the common purpose and goal. Ephesians 4:12-13 says “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:” As Christians, we should view these gifts and special abilities as deliberate endowments from God for the primary purpose of promoting the work of the ministry. I pray that your service in the House of God will be a blessing to the Body of Christ and will be profitable to God in Jesus’ Name.
Beloved, know that without the Holy Spirit, we can do nothing, but with Him, all things are possible. As an instrument of God’s Work, seek to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and to submit to God through these gifts, and there will be peace and orderliness, not strife and confusion. Wherever the Spirit of God is, there is liberty, signs and wonders. In this season signs and wonders will be your portion in Jesus’ Name! Continually and consistently study the Word of God and develop a strong relationship with God at the place of prayer. I encourage you to identify your gift, develop it and use it to glorify God and bless humanity.
O Lord, open my eyes to identify my gifts and give me all I need to develop them as You empower me to use them for Your Glory in Jesus’ Name.
