God Does The Unexpected

Matthew 2:12(KJV)

Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judæa in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

The wise men from the east saw Jesus’ Star and came to Jerusalem to worship Him. They were passionately seeking the true Messiah, looking for the King more powerful. Arriving in Jerusalem, they went to Herod and asked about the new King of the Jews. Herod, not knowing where the Messiah was born, enquired and was told that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. It was unthinkable that wise men would come to worship a Jewish king, especially a baby king. But God did the unexpected by causing these wise men of the east, considered Gentiles, to see the Star of Jesus. By doing this, God demonstrates His Almightiness beyond our comprehension. Isaiah 55:8-9 says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” God dares the impossible and does the unthinkable. The truth is we serve a God who is the Master of the unexpected. It’s what He does best! Throughout the Bible, we see God using people we didn’t expect to do his work. Moses had a speech impediment, and He used him to command Pharaoh to let His people go. Sarah and Abraham were old, and He blessed them with a child, Issac. And Jesus, the King of Kings, came to earth by a virgin in a manger.

Christmas is a very significant time of year. The Christmas season is a time set aside by Christians to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a season to celebrate the hope that the world received when Jesus was born. The moment Jesus was born into this world, there was hope for a better life for us. His birth bypassed natural order and suspended the protocol of nature to achieve the Kingdom’s purpose. That demonstrated the supremacy of the Divine Order over the normal. It was an indisputable display of the superiority of supernatural laws over natural law. The unexpected happened! As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the truth is many are celebrating Christmas without the knowledge of the Savior. That is what thousands and indeed millions are celebrating, without them knowing the reason for this season. Jesus is the reason for this season, and if we don’t know Him, this is an opportunity to do so, and He will become the Lord of our lives. Say this, “Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Savior. I believe You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You, Lord, for saving me, in Jesus’ Name.”

Beloved, Jesus’ birth has broken every natural and unnatural barrier in your life, paving the way to fulfill your God-given plan and purpose. As you celebrate His birth, I prophesy the end of every frustrating situation in your life has come in Jesus’ Name. Just as the devil could not locate Jesus nor destroy Him in the womb, God will do something in your life that will take the devil by surprise; He will do the unexpected in Jesus’ Name. As God used the star to guide the wise men, He will also direct your path in this season and beyond. Whether the devil likes it or not, you will celebrate this Christmas and march into 2023 with joy in Jesus’ Name! Your days shall be merry and bright with the light of God’s love. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Ask God to make the mystery of the birth of Jesus Christ real in your life. Remember, it is only the wise who seek Jesus. If you know Him, be the one this Christmas season to spread the Message about the Peace that’s available in Jesus and talk about His Goodwill toward men.

O LORD, I thank You for the birth of Jesus. As I celebrate this Christmas, do the extraordinary and unexpected in my life in Jesus’ Name.
