The Head And Above Only

Deuteronomy 28:13 (KJV)

And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the Lord thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them.

Deuteronomy 28 elaborates on God’s determination to bless the His children. God assures absolute dominance and superiority to those obedient to His commandments. They will always be the leaders at the top and never at the bottom. On the other hand, those who choose to disregard God’s commandments will be subjected to follow others and will always remain at the bottom. Essentially, God promised that His blessings would overtake those seeking refuge in the Lord’s Name Almighty. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” As believers, we are a peculiar and holy generation; the generation of people has given themselves to seeking God. The children of God are to stand out in all things, for God has not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:7). We are to stand out from the rest of the world as living proof of His power and love. Accepting this responsibility to live a holy life and obeying the commandments of God secures our destiny.

Knowing who we are is critical to fulfilling our purpose and destiny. In other words, knowing who we are is necessary to fulfill our destiny. Many people are unaware of who they are in God, and the devil is taking advantage of their ignorance to afflict and torment them. People have become casualties of life’s challenges because they don’t know who they are or what God says about them in the Scriptures. To fully embrace the truth that God has designated us as the head and above all, it is essential to comprehend the significance of this role. As the head, we are the leader and decision-maker, directing the course of our lives and actions. By embracing our position as the head and above only, we can confidently lead a life of obedience under God’s guidance and protection. Otherwise, we risk being controlled by external forces and unable to chart our own path. Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.”

Beloved, embrace the truth that you are the joy of many generations, a trailblazer, a world shaker, a history maker, a role model, and a road pointer. Believe with unwavering conviction that you are meant to be the lender, not the borrower, the head, and not the tail, above only and not bottom. This is God’s plan for you. You are destined to be on top and never at the bottom. As you journey through this year, be fully confident that the Lord has made you the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath, for your mentality determines your destiny, and being aware of who you are will ultimately shape what you become. So, stand tall and know that you are meant for greatness. Today, rise to a higher level of faith and believe these promises are yours through Christ. Take calculated and orchestrated steps that will lead you to success in life. Walk into every situation with confidence, knowing that you have the upper hand, for God is working on your behalf, and He will help you achieve greatness in everything you’re called to do. Search the Scripture and let God reveal who you are; see yourself as God sees you. Put the Word of God to work in your life and dare to receive the rich blessings that belong to you. Refuse to settle for the negative things people say about you. As you have stepped into 2024, rejoice, knowing that your victory is guaranteed. Remember that you are a royal priesthood, a chosen generation, a peculiar person, the head and not the tail, above only and not the bottom.

O Lord, I receive the grace to stand out in life to the glory of Your Name in Jesus’ Name.
