The Life Of A Seed

John 12:24(KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Jesus reminds us that there is no harvest without death — the seed has to be planted and die before it can germinate and grow. Jesus Christ explains that life is a seed that needs to be sown to benefit people and the Kingdom of God. The Almighty God gave the most matchless gift He had for the redemption of humanity; this is the height of generosity! John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The deepest desire of God is to have man restored to Himself. And to get that done, He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. Our salvation cost Jesus His life, and it was after the death of God’s Beloved Son that we all have access to the Gospel and the Throne of Grace. He came to give His life so we could be forgiven and transformed through faith in Him. Today, souls are saved because God gave His best first and was expecting to receive! Jesus, the Savior, died so that we might live for God through Him.

It is clear that the seed has to fall into the ground and die to bear much fruit. The farmer knows that one seed of corn can never produce anything unless he first plants it into the ground. Only then will it germinate into a plant and bring forth many more corn. So, the death of our old lives would make way for the emergence of the new life that brings forth much fruit. The old life is the life of sin and unrighteousness, the life driven by the flesh, the carnal nature, and the devil. Living only for ourselves and selfishly seeking what only pleases us is like living in prison and being put in solitary confinement. Unless we are willing to die to ourselves, we abide alone; we live isolated, lonely lives. Likewise, unless we deny ourselves any glory, we would never be able to see the Glory of God in our lives. We have to die to sin and to the flesh to bear fruit. 1 Corinthians 15:36 says, “You foolish person! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.” Our seeds will only come to life after it dies in the ground. The seed we sow will multiply. However, if we do not plant our seeds, they remain alone; sowing them gives us a harvest.

Beloved, the actual worth of your life is defined by the number of people who draw value from it. You are a seed that is supposed to feed many people because when the seed grows, it produces food that people gain from it. So, be ready to surrender the seed because there is power in that seed if only you can sow it. It has to leave your hand to unleash its power to bless you. The seed may leave your hand, but it cannot leave your life; it is definitely coming back to you in multiples. So, release that seed today, and you will witness its power in bringing blessings to your life. The truth of the matter is, whatever you are not ready to let go of, you cannot get back in massive proportions. In other words, nothing should therefore be too big for you. Affect a life today by your contribution to humanity. Positively contribute to the growth of the Body of Christ (the Church) by bringing someone to the Lord. Remember, until you die into your assignment, you will not reap the fruit of success.

O Lord, thank You for Your Word to me, give me the grace to die to self for the benefit of Your Kingdom and humanity in Jesus’ Name.
