The Lord Looked Down

Psalm 14:2(KJV)

The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

David’s passion to reach people has grown louder as many have become deaf to God’s invitation to know and walk with Him. His words remind us that only a fool would say in their heart, “There is no God.” Diligently searching or pursuing something of great value is to seek. The intensity of the labor, time, and money used in the search process is proportionate to the worth placed on the object of our pursuit. For example, people spend so much time and money to seek gold and other natural resources. In the same way, God, our Creator, Redeemer, Provider, Healer, Mighty Warrior, and the King of Kings, desires that we seek after Him and His Kingdom. He loved us long before we loved Him. In that sense, God sent His only begotten Son as a sacrifice for sin so that we will have abundant life in this world and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. Having done so much for us, He desires that we all seek after Him and His Kingdom. We do not need any profound talent to seek God but a heart turned toward Him.

The Word of God encourages us to seek the Lord and worship Him always for who He is. The earth is the work of His Hands, and He is interested in what happens there. Zechariah 4:10 says that the eyes of the Lord are looking in every direction, and He sees everything on earth(paraphrased). Nothing escapes His attention; nothing can happen without Him being aware; nothing can hide from Him. The desire of God is for His people to seek after Him. He also is seeking those who display genuine interest in fellowshipping with Him. The Lord wants to see if any wise people are faithful to Him. It is written, in 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…………………..” God is looking for people who are passionate about seeking His Will. He is looking for people who will wholeheartedly pursue Him. He loves man so strongly that He searches the earth for any who are faithful to Him. Making the right decision to seek God may come at a cost. However, in God’s eternal plan, His blessings will arrive in due time. Knowing and doing what matters most in life guarantees our escape from calamities both in time and eternity. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 says, “For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.”

Beloved, seeking God and His Kingdom should be the priority of your life. Seek Him in holiness and righteousness continually and without delay. Serve Him faithfully, for He is the reward of those who diligently seek Him. May God say at the end of your journey in this life, “WELL DONE MY SON OR DAUGHTER.” Remove the distractions that pull you away from God, and seek after Him wholeheartedly. Devote your heart and soul to seeking the LORD your God alone, and He will cause your heart desires to come to pass. Abide in God’s Presence, associate with Him, and be involved in what He is doing. Commit to the work of the Lord wholeheartedly because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. As long as you do your best and honor God, you will not need people’s approval because you have God’s approval. People will do everything to destroy you by saying all kinds of things against you, but be determined and use your energy to seek God, His will, and pleasure above all others. Let your focus be on God. As you strive with determination in all your assignments, God will crown your efforts with resounding success in Jesus’ Name. Remember, the eyes of the Lord have seen your loyalty and faithfulness. Continue to seek Him in true surrender and adoration, and over time, and you will know Him on a deeper level as He restores your fortunes. I invite you to come and pray with us tonight, and your life will never be the same. Stay blessed.

O Lord, help me have that kind of heart faithfully dedicated to seeking You continually in Jesus’ Name.
