John 4:34(KJV)
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
According to the Scriptures, God made us with a purpose- to carry out His Will on Earth and make a positive impact. While God has a plan for us, He respects our free will and will not force us to do anything against our wishes. Jesus, our perfect example, said in John 6:38, “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.” Throughout His time on Earth, Jesus remained steadfastly committed to fulfilling His Father’s Will, even when faced with personal challenges, such as in the Garden of Gethsemane. In Luke 22:41-42, we see His unwavering dedication to submitting to God’s Will above His own desires. Despite these difficulties, Jesus never lost sight of His unique mission from God and carried it out with unwavering determination. Luke 19:10 says, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” The whole reason Jesus came to Earth was to seek and save those who are lost.
In a world driven by instant gratification and individualism, we face a choice between committing to God’s work and seeing it through or being self-centered and providing external, superficial service with no real impact on the Kingdom’s affairs. There are some Christians who do not consider God’s Work as an essential obligation. They have even neglected the great commission, reluctant to sacrifice for God and only willing to please Him when it is convenient or effortless. However, life gains meaning, efficiency, and resourcefulness when we discover what God intended for us to do on Earth. It reflects a need for conformity with Christ’s vision. Our life choices must revolve around the Almighty. Accomplishing the will of God and doing the work He created us to do blesses us as we bless others. As followers of Christ, our ultimate purpose on this Earth is to carry out the Will of God by serving and obeying Him and fulfilling the tasks He has assigned to us. Our mission is to pursue and rescue lost people and guide them toward becoming disciples. Jesus gave the final instructions to the church before ascending to heaven. He commanded us to spread His teachings to all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to follow all that He has taught us. We all possess distinct methods, but we are not here to merely fill a church seat. We have a purpose and responsibilities to carry out as long as we are alive.
Beloved, there’s no greater work in the world that you could ever do than the Lord’s work of the harvest! No other work pays so highly, serves a glorious purpose, and results in eternal joy! Determine to reap the harvest around you, and make disciples of your neighbors earnestly seeking God’s deliverance. Today, surrender to God’s Will and obey His commandments to fulfill His purpose for your life. The harvest is plentiful, but there are few workers. So, like Philip, the evangelist boldly proclaimed the everlasting Good News to all. Be patient and persevere through challenges, trusting that God’s Plan will unfold in your life. Follow Jesus’ example and remain devoted to fulfilling God’s Plans for your life. Let the will of God for my life remain your meat, and He will keep showing me new dimensions of His will. Remember, salvation is a gift of God, and it’s yours simply by reaching out and accepting it.
O Lord, help me always to remember to please You and give me the strength to finish Your Work in Jesus’ Name.
