Psalm 91:1(KJV)
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Our anchored Scripture begins with the self-evident declaration that God is our secret place and shadow where we can dwell and abide. When we stay in His Secret Place, we reside under the shadow of the Almighty. As we remain in His Secret Place, the Almighty secures us from physical and spiritual danger. In the secret place of the Most High, God protects and keeps us safe from many things that trouble men. We receive a heavenly exception from danger. In God’s Hiding Place, we begin to see things others do not see and know. Then we can boldly say of the Lord, “He is our refuge and fortress: in Him will we trust.” Psalm 27:5 says, “For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.” What a glorious promise; when we seek God and serve Him, He will hide us in His Sanctuary in times of trouble. In other words, God shields those who have His nature from every evil attack that can endanger their destiny by His invisible covering.
We live in a world where the devil’s main objective is to prevent many from fulfilling their God-given destiny. Insecurity and instability have characterized the lives of many people today. The storms of life are raging. Uncertainty is everywhere, and the only guarantee we have is God. He is the only true place of safety, rest, and peace. Life is said to be warfare and a battlefield, but if we will live a victorious life on earth, the Secret Place of God is a non-negotiable requirement. The Secret Place of God is one sure weapon against experiencing destruction and calamity. When we live under the Shadow of the Almighty, all enemy attacks cease to exist. Psalm 31:20 says, “Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: Thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.” Connection to God makes us untouchable, unwastable, and invisible to the enemy because we are hidden in Him! That means no matter what is happening around us, God is with us to give us strength, confidence, and rest greater than ever because we know we are safe in Him. Challenges may come our way, but we will not be worried about them. In times of crisis, we must lift our gaze from fear and focus on the Lord. The more we focus on the Lord’s character and promises and dwell in the secret place, the more we can receive His peace and guidance. Know that things will work out for our good, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper.
Beloved, you are called to dwell in God and to abide in Christ. There is someone known as the Most High; He is Higher than the highest, Taller than the tallest, and Bigger than the biggest, Who hides His own in a time of trouble. Today, set your affection on things above and not on things on earth. Ensure that nothing disconnects you from God’s Presence. Make sure that the way you feel in the church is the same way you feel at home, for the devil can waste you before your time has not been born. As you dwell in His Sanctuary, let the devil know you are not a cheap victim of his tools. Your future is too bright to be distracted, and nobody can control your destiny but God. Keep on being your best, walking in integrity, meditating on the Word, worshipping throughout the day, and staying hidden in Him! Should you pass through any trouble, stand on the truthfulness of God’s Promises and declare a change of situation in Jesus’ Name! Engage in prayer and praise, singing and choosing to rejoice despite your circumstances. The redeemed that fear God and live a holy life receive a fresh baptism of Divine protection and deliverance that will take you to the realm of exploits, victory, and outstanding success.
O Lord, thank You for being my hiding place and refuge; keep me secure to fulfill my assignment in life in Jesus’ Name.
