Psalm 119:130(ESV)
The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that the entrance of God’s Word gives light and understanding to the simple. The appearance of God’s Word into our hearts brings light and the insight we need. Without the Word of God to give light to our pathways, we will stumble and fall. It is like a flaming torch that reveals the right way to follow. God personifies His Word, so every Word received, believed, and engaged becomes as unstoppable as God. That is, the light of God’s Word lightens us and puts us also in command of everything. 2 Peter 1:19 says, “And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” Apostle Peter from the above Scripture says we should take heed (or focus our attention) on the written Word of God until the answer to any problem dawns on us through the light of revelation. In other words, the written Word, God’s prophetic passages, is better because they are the inspired Word of God. Therefore, it is not enough to receive the Word; we must go a little further to believe the Word of God, and then, we dominate our circumstances.
The Word of God is the spiritual reservoir of light that guides us from falling into the darkness of this world. It helps us make proper decisions about issues capable of bringing destruction to our lives. The devil knows the importance of light and is very familiar with darkness. It is this reason he attacks people by extinguishing their light and throwing them into utter darkness. But the Word of God has the power to turn the darkness around our lives into light. When we put to work God’s Word, the powers of darkness give way because darkness cannot contend with the authority of light. That is, the dominion of light over darkness is instant and unquestionable. For instance, when we turn on the light in a room, darkness gives way instantly. Likewise, turning on the light of the Word of God on the powers of darkness will cause darkness to surrender to the authority of the Word of God. So, the Word is light that shatters all gang-ups of the powers of darkness. John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” When we engage the light of the Word in any battle of life, our unquestionable triumph is sure. By the Word, God created everything, and they all remain under the order of the Word forever.
Beloved, to see insight from Word, ensure that you are interested in God’s Word. Spend time on the Word. Read, study, memorize and meditate on the Word with unrelenting zeal and hunger. God’s Word in you will put the devil to flight, facilitate your deliverance and bring in your miracles. Darkness may endure for a night, but be assured that the Sun of Righteousness will rise over your life in the morning. Even though the devil may have succeeded in putting out your light by whatever means, our Lord Jesus Christ can make your light shine again by the power of His Word. Don’t waste your time studying the darkness. You don’t focus your attention on that. You fix your eyes on the light because you know its brightness will drive out the confusion of the darkness and orient you to your surroundings. Pay attention to the Word of God and head for the Light, and the answer you need will dawn on you. Receive the light of God for illumination, direction, sustenance, health, peace, and joy in the Name of Jesus. Remember, meditate on God’s Word day and night, and it shall be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path.
O LORD, thank You for Your Word, I receive the grace to encounter fresh light from Your Word in Jesus’ Name.
