Though He Was Rich

2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJV)

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Understanding the grace that came through our Lord Jesus Christ will enable us to walk in what God has for us in Him. The Son of God, the Creator of the Universe, left all He has so He can die and reconcile us to the Father. For Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself, becoming obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. He emptied Himself and became poor so that we might be made rich through His poverty. So, we are made rich because He has given us direct access to the heavenly Father through His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, who lives in us. And we are now heirs of God and co-heirs with our Lord Jesus. What else can we ask for but to walk in this truth and trust Him for every need and want in Christ? God shall supply all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

The death of Jesus was for a purpose. And that purpose is to ensure that we fulfill our destinies. Through His suffering, painful death on the cross, and glorious resurrection on the third day, He paid in full every price demanded for humanity’s redemption, atonement, deliverance, and salvation. It was God’s redemption plan for anyone who believes in His Son. For Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. 2 Corinthians 9:8 says “2 Corinthians 9:8 King James Version 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” The grace of God is unbelievable! Our provision is based on God’s grace. As believers, by God’s Mighty Power, we can do far more than we may dare to ask or even dream of. God cannot just do beyond what we ask but abundantly beyond.

Beloved, as a believer in Christ, you are standing on a blessed foundation without sickness, lack, barrenness, struggle, or curse. Regardless of your present financial situation, you cannot die poor. Stop looking at your pocket! Instead, accept what He has provided for you. Reject poverty, for all things are yours(1 Corinthians 3:21). You are rich in the blessing and promises of the new covenant. You are rich in your expectation of eternal life. Likewise, Christ has triumphed over sicknesses for you so that no disease can stay in your body. When you believe in the finished work of Christ in your life, you begin to operate in the realm of rest. It is all about Jesus and what He has already made available for you. You do not have anything to do with it. He did it all for you! In Christ, you have a life of superabundance; acknowledge and enjoy your inheritance. The only situation that can prevent you from benefiting from the riches of the Lord Jesus Christ is your refusal to accept Him as your Lord and Savior and your refusal to walk by His principles. Remember, if you do not know your rights, you cannot enjoy them.

O Lord, make me victorious over every opposing force or circumstance of life in the Precious Name of Jesus.
