Matthew 6:10(KJV)
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
The Kingdom of God is the central message of all Jesus came to do and teach. When the Lord Jesus taught His disciple to pray, He did not give them a magic format to repeat as a vain repetition, but a method of prayer to use as they approached the throne of grace. When we pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done. On earth as it is in Heaven,” we are praying for the rule and reign of the Kingdom of God in our lives to see His purpose fulfilled and our destiny realized. Jesus Christ came so that we can once again unite with those in heaven in doing God’s Will and pursuing His Pleasure. Our prayer should reflect the desire to align ourselves with God’s goals and purposes, not to get Him to follow our plans. From the Lord’s prayer, one thing is crystal clear: only the Will of God is done in heaven, where He dwells, and on earth, where we live. Everyone and everything existing in heaven and on earth conforms to God’s Will and Plan. God, through His Son, saved us so that we can join His family in heaven in doing His Will on earth. David had this understanding, and so he said in Psalm 143:10, “Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.”
God created us to walk in His Blueprint for our lives; anything less is unacceptable and should be rejected. Living within the Divine Will is understanding God’s Plan in every area of our lives. The Will of God is always higher and greater than the will of man. He knows the end from the beginning. The exercise of free will outside the will of God is false freedom which leads to slavery and captivity to worldly pleasures, addictions, pride, excessive ambition, and immortality. Many forget it is God who has blessed them with so much, and they are letting His very blessing be a barrier to following His Will in their lives. It is so funny the same people want God to continue to bless them with children, wealth, green cards, good marriages, good health, good jobs, and so on. If we are going to live as lovers of self, it will be difficult for us to please God and do His Will. No matter where we are, Jesus has called all His followers to take up their Cross and follow Him. God’s will can look different in our individual lives, but the call to embrace it is the same for each of us. As believers, putting God and His Will first in our lives should be our priority. Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Beloved, God’s Will for your life is supreme, and to serve Him alone. He rules and reigns both in heaven and on earth. God’s will for His children is always good and in their best interest. It is the essence of life and the only way to fulfill your destiny. As long as you continue in His Word, no devil can take away from you His Will on earth. Your will is at its best when it is in submission and agreement with God’s Will. Live according to God’s Will, and there’ll be no strivings. He expects you to ensure His will is done in your life, family, and church. Today, open your heart to His will, which is His Word. Stand in faith and see His Will in your life just as in heaven! Continue to serve Him faithfully and ask Him for the needed grace to run the race. Remember, at the end of time, only those who followed God’s will diligently on earth will be translated to continue doing so in eternity.
O Lord, teach and grant me the grace to do Your Will, enforce Your Will in my life in Jesus’ Name.
