Micah 7:7 (KJV)
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.
In Micah 7, the prophet laments the state of Israel and, with great sadness, challenges Israelites to turn from their sinful ways, warning of the serious consequences. Despite this, he expresses unwavering faith in God, choosing to “watch in hope for the Lord” and trust in His salvation. The above Scripture is a declaration of unwavering faith and trust in God, even in the face of challenges and difficulties. It serves as a beacon of hope amidst the chaos, emphasizing reliance on God’s faithfulness rather than human solutions. The act of watching and waiting requires patience and trust, showing our commitment to God’s plan. Even in seasons of uncertainty or hardship, we can lean on the promise that God hears us. The assurance that God is listening and actively working for our salvation gives us strength to endure. We are to persevere in faith and trust God’s timing and plan rather than be discouraged by present challenges. Lamentations 3:25-26 says, “The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Waiting is hard, but those who trust God and wait quietly always see His Goodness.
As Christians, waiting on God gives us a higher value and a new power to our prayers and worship because it links us to Himself. When times are hard, and we have done all we can with no result, it is best that we wait patiently for the LORD to aid and strengthen us. God has planted hope in the hearts of every believer so that we can build a strong relationship of love and trust in Him. Despite the dark clouds of life that may surround us and the strong winds of adversity that may blow against us, we can take comfort in knowing that God is on our side. God tells us to be still and have faith in times of doubt. By trusting in God and submitting to His will, He will fight for us and scatter our enemies. So, let us walk with confidence, knowing that we are not alone in our struggles. He knows the situation we are in and all that we are facing. He won’t forsake us to face it alone. When we wait on God with hope, faith, and trust, He will come through for us. Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”
Beloved, trusting in God, and waiting is the ultimate display of confidence. By consistently turning to God in hope and expectation, you develop a deeper relationship with Him and strengthen your ability to rely on His promises, no matter what comes your way. Look up to God, let go of the need to control everything, and believe God is faithful and merciful even amid chaos. His abundant faithfulness is evident every morning, and you can comfort that He is always in control. So, instead of complaining or shouting, you can confidently wait and trust His plan. Today is the day to wait for God to answer you before you make a mistake you can’t get yourself out of. Your difficult circumstances may not change easily or quickly, but as you wait for God and put your hope in Him, you will find He is more than enough for you. Wait in quietness for Him to reveal His goodness to you. Cultivate this much-needed element of the Christian life by waiting on God. Stop fighting your battles all by yourself, switch to quiet mode today, and let Jesus take over your case, for He will give you the rest you need. Keep your eyes on God and not the storms and distractions around you. Remember, God works in ways you may not immediately see, so trust His plan.
O Lord, help me to trust You and wait with the hope that You are working out all things for my good and Your glory in Jesus’ Name.
