Turn Your Burden To God

Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

David, threatened by his enemies, felt the emotional weight of their anger. He was in deep distress, facing betrayal and turmoil. In the midst of his suffering, he discovered solace in the Lord’s promise. Through introspection, he found a way to find peace by casting his burdens upon the Lord. The Scripture encourages us to cast our burdens upon the Lord, trusting that He will sustain us. We also understand from the Scriptures that the best solution for believers in times of difficulty, worry, or anxiety is to cast our problems on Jesus, knowing He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” We have an express and authoritative assurance from God to give all our burdens to Him. It means that we need not get worried over anything anymore but leave all our load on God.

Feeling weary is a daily experience, but thankfully, God offers to carry it for us. God is always willing to help men, but men do not always avail themselves of God’s unfailing ability to help like no other can. The Lord, our God, cares for us and never fails us. He proved His love for us through Christ Jesus’ death on Calvary. Some have been crushed under their burden because they prefer to bear their troubles by worrying rather than handing them over to God. Many, rather than bring their burdens to God, rush to the arm of the flesh who need assistance themselves. God supports us if we dare to release our problems to Him. It is written in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” No matter what we go through, never forget that the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry. He is in control of every aspect of our lives. We don’t have to take charge of every situation and try to craft an exhausting outcome! So, instead of trying to do everything in our effort, we can find rest in God. As Christians, we must release, let go, and trust God through the leading of His Holy Spirit to guide and direct us along life’s journey, for we can’t do it ourselves. Matthew 11:28 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Only God can unquestionably give us rest. For anyone heavily laden and filled with cares, cast them on God!

Beloved, irrespective of the problem and difficulty you find yourself in, accept this invitation and come to Jesus today. Cast your burden on Him in prayer, and you will experience the power of His love like never before. Today, release that burden of worry, including uncertainty, sickness, unpaid rent, mortgages, debt, or a wayward child, and see what He will do. Throw them off and give them to God because when you stop worrying, you start winning! You win because God cares for you and will never fail you. When it feels like it’s time to worry, trust, and have confidence in Him, knowing He cares for you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid, for God in heaven still reigns and always will. He will take your burdens, worries, anxiety, and fears upon Himself. No one has come to the Lord with their burden and returned the same (Luke 8:43–48). There is no greater burden-bearer than the Lord Jesus Christ! “He is eager to assist you in handling any challenge you may be facing. His call to you today is to come to Him, all who labor and are heavily laden, and He will give you rest. The next time you face a problem, give it to God and let Him be the One who’s concerned about it, for He has volunteered for the job, and you can trust Him to do it well. Rely on God and let the whole world know He is your sufficiency. Remember, let it Go! Give it all to God, for He is willing to carry your heavy load!

O Lord, thank You for Your Word. I turn all my cares over to You in Jesus’ Name.
