Luke 21:33(KJV)
Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
We understand from the Scriptures that all will pass away except for the Word of God. History tells us nothing stands forever, but the Bible asserts that the Word of God, which became flesh for all humanity, will last forever. In other words, the Word of God is unchangeable, untouchable, and unending. The Word does not expire but will stand, endure and remain forever. It is not affected by time, and neither is it limited. The Word has always been present since the creation of the world. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” If the Word is God and God is Infinite, then His Word is eternal, permanent, and limitless. There will never be an end to His Word. The promises of God’s Word are reliable, certified, and trustworthy. Isaiah 51:6 says, “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.”
It is impossible to ignore numerous uncertainties and afflictions in our lives, but God’s Word remains the same despite the opinions and feelings of men. Still, we can trust God’s unchanging love and character, as revealed through His constant and eternally true Word. God affirms His love through His dependable and unchanging Word, which endures now and forever. Heaven and earth will one day pass away, for sin has contaminated his world, but the pure Words of the Lord Jesus are perfect. They are life and light to fallen men and will never pass away, for the Words of the Lord are pure Words. The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand forever.” The Word of our God stands fast forever, and the Words of Jesus Christ endure forever and ever. The never changing nature of God assures us that His Word concerning us is yea and amen in Christ Jesus. It doesn’t matter how long, if God said it; believe and hold on to it. He will bring it to pass, for His Word is ever sure. When God says a thing, His integrity backs it up. Any Word spoken by God to us is ordained for fulfillment because it is prophetic, except we do not believe it.
Beloved, God’s Word is more dependable than the ground you walk on and the air you breathe. They are surer than even the existence of the universe. The Word of God is not limited or restricted by time because He is eternal, enduring, able, and limitless. His Word is indeed pure and shall stand forever. Regularly meditate on the Word and build your faith strong. As a Christian, you possess something that does last forever. You have the Word that no man can ever take away, confiscate, or steal from you. Uphold the Word of God in your life irrespective of your circumstances. It doesn’t matter what comes at you because when you follow the Word, you can boldly declare, “Nay, in all these things, I am more than a conqueror!” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego upheld the Word of God even at the point of death, and God did not disappoint them. When hardships arise, you need a sure foundation, the Word of God, to stand on so your emotions will not easily lead you astray through faulty thinking. Today, I want you to focus on the Word of God Almighty. Hold on to God’s Word concerning you. It may appear time is running out, but never give room to doubt. It will not tarry. The Word of God will forever stand and not pass away.
O Lord, thank You for Your Word that is sure and trustworthy. Help me as I seek to build my life on Your Word in Jesus’ Name.
