Wait On The Lord

Psalm 25:3 (KJV)

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

The Psalm attributed to David demonstrates a profound trust in God’s faithfulness. It emphasizes the assurance that those who place their hope in the Lord will not be let down. It encourages a reliance on God’s promises and timing, particularly during challenging circumstances. The concept of patience with God centers on having faith and being willing to wait for His guidance in all situations, even when the rationale for such waiting is not immediately apparent. This is crucial because those who patiently wait for the Lord do not squander their lives. Waiting provides access to divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. When God is in control, those who wait on Him will never be disappointed, as He is not bound by human limitations and possesses foresight from the beginning to the end. Waiting on God primarily involves a heart attitude that acknowledges God’s supremacy and our reliance on Him. The evidence of our trust in Him lies in our ability to patiently wait while in prayer. It is essential for us to pray and await the Lord’s arrival.

Waiting can be a challenging test, especially when the duration is uncertain. Trusting in the unwavering goodness of God’s character is essential for maintaining patience during this time. Additionally, waiting fosters humility and prevents hasty, regrettable decisions. Isaiah 49:23 says, “And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.” When we place our hope in Him with complete confidence, knowing that as we humbly listen and follow His Voice, we will never be put to shame. Our hope in God brings out the confidence in us. When it seems like God is making us wait, it is because the glory coming with it will be great. Elizabeth and Zechariah patiently awaited the birth of their son, John the Baptist, because he was destined to become one of the greatest prophets in history. As children of God, we don’t have to worry about shame because of our hope in the Blood of Jesus. His sacrifice covers us! Success is not a result of our own merits but is attributable to divine intervention. Those who rely solely on their own abilities and ignore the presence of God will continue to bear the burden of shame.

Beloved, your hope in God is never in vain. He sees your faith and will reward it in His perfect timing, for there is a reward for those who patiently wait for God in all things. Wait in faith after you have prayed. Trust in His perfect timing, for He is never too late or too early. Do not look for alternatives while waiting, so stay put with God. In moments of uncertainty, turn to God for direction and wisdom. Trust that He will guide you on the right path, for no one trusts in, waits for, or hopes that the LORD is brought to shame. Today, all may be lost, facing terrible things, or having difficulties; trust in the LORD and wait for His Word to be fulfilled in your life. Your trust in the LORD can never be in vain, and you will never ever be put to shame. Cultivate the habit of regularly waiting upon the Lord in praise, worship, and prayer, and you will be loaded with the great blessings it attracts. Strive to live a life of honesty and faithfulness, knowing that God honors those who walk in His ways. Remember, your attitude while waiting can seriously influence whether you will be victorious or not.

O LORD, thank You for Your Word. Grant me patience to wait for You in all things in Jesus’ Name.
