2 Corinthians 5:7(KJV)
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
It is critical to know that the subject of faith cannot be over-emphasized because the journey of Christianity is called the walk of faith. The Scripture in Habakkuk. 2:4 makes it clear that the righteous shall live by his faith, meaning our lives and survival are very dependent on our faith. So, walking by faith is accepting, obeying, and acting on God’s Word with absolute trust that God will do what He said He would do. That is having complete confidence in God’s unfailing ability. Faith gives us the capacity to bring into existence what has never existed. The creation or production of things that had never existed before is made possible by faith. As believers, we are not to live by sight or appearance. In other words, seeing is believing is contrary to faith. Without faith, we cannot please God, and without faith, we cannot access what the Grace of God has provided. Therefore, it is not possible to walk in faith without taking steps, for faith without action steps is an assumption. John 11:40 says, “Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” Our relationship with God should be such that we trust Him and not the way things look right now.
The journey of believers is never by sight but by faith. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:1-2, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it, the elders obtained a good report.” No doubt, faith is very vital to our walk as Christians. Christianity is worthless without it, as it is the principal instrument for doing exploits in the Kingdom. Faith is to believe in the incredible, dare the unthinkable, and do the impossible. When we walk in faith, we become candidates for exploits because the Hand of God delivers extraordinary results. Faith makes the believer move without clear evidence. When we become born-again, we receive spiritual eyes to see and understand things that otherwise we could not discern without the Holy Spirit. Men of faith believe what other people cannot rely on, dares what is not thinkable, and does what is impossible. We are the children of Him that declares the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). And with the end in sight, our faith is set in motion to bring us to its reality. In other words, faith sees the resultant finale even before the process begins.
Beloved, walk by faith even when situations around you seem discouraging. Forget the physical and look on to the reality of the workings of the faith in your heart. It is the desire of God that you grow in the knowledge of His Word and walk by faith. He wants you to live by what the Word says about you and not by your feelings or the opinions of others. Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God, for the faith that stands in the power of God has no margin for failure. So, the mentality of seeing before believing should be a thing of the past in your life. Be determined to arm yourself with the mindset of warfare in order to maintain a vibrant faith in God. Submit to the Lord, and He will begin to guide and lead you by His Spirit; as you follow Him in faith, knowing He will not disappoint you or lead you astray. Today learn to obey Him even when you do not see or understand how He is leading. Build up your faith through the Word of God (Romans 10:17). Dare to believe everything written in the Word of God. Consistently praise God in faith for your expectations. Trust God with your day and unseen tomorrows, and you don’t need to worry about anything life will throw at you. Walk with Him, for He knows what is ahead; He is powerful and wise enough to handle it.
O Lord, I connect to the grace to live and walk by faith by taking faith-based action steps in Jesus’ Name.
