War A Good Warfare

1 Timothy 1:18-19(KJV)

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:

Our anchored Scripture admonishes us to hold on to the faith and have a good conscience. In his letter to Timothy, the Apostle Paul emphasized the importance of unwavering faith, warning against the perils of abandoning it. Paul reminds Timothy of the prophecies spoken over him, emphasizing his calling and purpose. Just as soldiers fight for a noble cause, Timothy is called to stand firm in his faith and share the truth of the Gospel. Upon embracing Christ as our Savior, we are called to battle for our faith continually. This fight is paramount as it signifies our deliverance from the dominion of darkness into the Kingdom of God, where we triumph in Christ. As children of God, we have overcome the rule of darkness, for the indwelling Spirit within us, the Holy Spirit, surpasses the forces of the world. Relying on Him ensures our perpetual victory over the adversary.

Life is a spiritual battle, and we must fight well. The Christian faith encompasses a continuous spiritual battle. Since the universe’s inception, a cosmic conflict has persisted between God and his opponent, satan. Since the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of God has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force (Matthew 11:12). Struggling in a combat situation requires unwavering adherence to orders daily, even during challenging times and moments of doubt. Holding onto faith and maintaining a good conscience is crucial. In order to stay in God’s victory, we have to fight the good fight of faith and have a good conscience. And we know faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. Thus, the victory of faith is allowing God’s Word to dwell in us richly and doing what the Word tells us in every situation with a pure conscience, which is the voice of our new spirit. When we know what belongs to us in Christ Jesus, we can stand our ground based on the Word of God and always win. Yes, that is why we have to be sober and vigilant; because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. But we must resist the devil and be steadfast in the faith! In Christ, we have authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us! Some people have deliberately violated their consciences, leading to a shipwreck of their faith. The battle is ongoing, and we must fight well, without ceasing, to maintain our victory.

Beloved, do not succumb to fear or timidity, and do not retreat. Maintain your faith and commitment to the established battle plan. As a disciplined soldier, continue to engage in the fight. Success in warfare relies heavily on the ability to adhere to orders even in challenging circumstances. To surpass boundaries, you must have unwavering faith, even in the face of daunting odds and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. When hope appears to be dwindling, having faith in God’s Word ensures that everything will ultimately fall into place for your benefit. Your faith has the power to pave smooth paths through rough terrain and transform trials into triumphant testimonies. Therefore, it is imperative to steadfastly cling to your faith at all times. Never put it away. Arm yourself with faith always and you will live daily in miracles. Guard your faith and maintain a clear conscience by aligning your actions with God’s truth. For your conscience guides you in discerning right from wrong. When you violate your conscience deliberately, your faith can be shipwrecked. Remember, this battle is absolutely worth fighting, for victory is not just a possibility, it is guaranteed in the end.

O Lord, help me to hold on to my faith and have a good conscience in Jesus’ Name.
