Wisdom Is More Precious

Proverbs 3:13-15 (KJV)

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

Wisdom is not merely common sense; it is a profound mindset and a divine guide for overcoming human frustration. Drawing from his divinely inspired experiences, King Solomon clearly shows us that wisdom is the essential ingredient we need. He made a pivotal choice when he sought wisdom from God to govern, prioritizing it over riches, power, or vengeance against his enemies. Unbeknownst to him at the time, he was asking for the ultimate key to unlocking all other blessings. Solomon boldly declares that the value of wisdom surpasses that of riches, gold, and any material possessions. He stands as the wisest individual in biblical history, as well as the wealthiest, demonstrating the unparalleled power of wisdom in life (1 Kings 3:12-13). Solomon had a profound love for the Lord, and in response, he was endowed with an extraordinary Spirit of wisdom, far surpassing that of all men in his time. This clearly demonstrates that true wisdom is essential for navigating the path to wealth. In essence, where wisdom exists, prosperity follows.

Being Christians without wisdom is ineffective. We’ve seen countless great destinies turn into disasters due to a lack of wisdom. Scripture clearly tells us that God’s people are taken captive—not because the enemy is formidable, nor because they lack weapons—but because they lack knowledge (Hosea 4:6). This is precisely why the devil will stop at nothing to keep Christians in ignorance. He understands that as long as he can prevent us from gaining knowledge, he can maintain control. Therefore, being deficient in knowledge equates to a weakness in wisdom. In essence, the pursuit of knowledge is the sure path to wisdom. Proverbs 4:7 says, “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” The wisdom of God is a principal asset of the children of God. Everything about us is dependent on wisdom. It is vital to recognize that no matter how many things we have acquired, getting understanding gives value. It is also written in James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”  We confidently assert that whenever we seek wisdom from God, we will undoubtedly receive it, for He is the ultimate source of all wisdom and knowledge. God embodies wisdom in its truest form. The reality is, we require wisdom more than anything else because it effectively eradicates shame, reproach, lack, and want. To achieve success, passing the wisdom test is essential; it is absolutely indispensable. Wisdom brings with it long life, wealth, health, honor, pleasure, and true happiness. This is why we are encouraged to actively seek wisdom and prioritize it above all else. The wisdom of God is the key to achieving greatness, royalty, and blessings within the Kingdom. It is this wisdom that shapes stars in every field of endeavor. Divine wisdom has the power to calm the storms in our homes, businesses, and careers. It stands unparalleled to any other form of wisdom, guiding us toward a life that is both peaceful and fulfilling.
