Psalm 95:6-7(KJV)
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker. For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
This Psalm is a worship psalm and it speaks of our obedience as children of God to give praise and worship to our Great God, who is King above everyone and everything both in Heaven and on earth. He is the One who created all things, whose Hands contain the very depths of the earth, who owns the highest mountain peak, and who made the sea and formed the desert. There is nothing in creation that doesn’t belong to God. He made it and we owe Him everything. When we understand the grace God has given us to be called His children, what else can we do but bow down or kneel before Him in His Majesty and Might. Psalm 29:2 says “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” We worship to bring Him glory and honor.
Worship is a serious business and it requires each one of us to praise, submit and trust the Lord for all He has done in our lives. Worship is the proof of our submission and is the mark of our true dedication to God. A life of worship is a life of dedication and the results are enormous. Our worship of God attracts His Presence to us and facilitates His Guidance of our lives. In Acts 16:26, Paul and Silas worshipped Him and He showed up in an earthquake. In 2 Chronicles 20:22, Jehoshaphat and his people worshipped the Most High God and He made their enemies destroy one another. The Hebrew word for “worship” in Psalm 95:6 basically means “to bend.” When we worship God, we bend our lives to what He wants and who He is. As we seek Him first and savor Him, His greatness bends everything else that isn’t as great in our lives. John 4:23 says “But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.” Worship the Lord passionately in truth and in spirit, for the Father seeks true worshippers. He knows us better than we know ourselves. The more we worship the more God pours into us His blessings and glory. The Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship.” Lastly, as we are called to worship, it offers us an intimate opportunity to open our hearts up before the Lord.
Beloved, ensure to worship God in the beauty of holiness consistently, not only because of what He has done for you but also for Who He is to you. Seek to surround yourself with praise and worship, either singing by yourself or by listening to the anointed radio “Peaceloving Radio” or CDs of songs by anointed worshippers. Refuse to be moved by what you see, be moved by what He said and commit to a lifestyle of worship in spirit and in truth. Today, worship the Holy One of Israel, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, the Rock of Ages, The Mighty Man of war, the Lord of lords, the Lord Strong and Mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, the King of kings, the Almighty God.
O LORD, THANK YOU FOR YOUR MERCY, LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS, I WORSHIP YOU AND ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR GREAT WORKS IN MY LIFE IN JESUS’ NAME.
