Write the Vision Down

Habakkuk 2:2(KJV)

And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

Our anchor Scripture admonishes us to write our vision down and make it plain so that when we read it, we can run with it to get it fulfilled. Vision is seeing tomorrow from today for where we will be tomorrow is determined by what we see today. It gives us the ability to plan and the capacity to pursue our plans and measure our progress. In the journey of life, there are battles and until we are armed for the journey, victory would not be possible. The truth is, the journey of life requires vision. It can also be confirmed that a clear vision of destination arms us for the journey of life. That is, what we can see determines what God will give us and what does not occur to us cannot happen for us. What our hearts cannot perceive, our hands cannot latch onto. God told Abraham that as far as his eyes could see, He would give unto him (Genesis 13:14); so, to see nothing is to get nothing. In other words, our future is always connected to our vision.

It must be acknowledged that every genuine vision has its source in God. It is God’s revealed plan and has to be able to be found or discovered to Him. When our vision is of God, He creates a peaceful way out for us in His own time. For instance, Abraham for twenty-five years held on to his vision –the promise of a son. It is written in Romans 4:20-21 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was also able to perform.” However, any vision that does not have its source in God leads to destruction. It might flourish and be sweet for a while but certain destruction is inevitable. If the vision, we receive is not peaceful within us it must be examined. For example, a vision to go and steal from the bank or store, dupe people(419) or destroy someone’s life is not a God-given vision. It may be sweet but it will not last, it has severe consequences.

Beloved, write your vision down for any vision that is not written down is a daydream and fanciful. Avoid the spell of being without vision. Don’t live your life to chance because whatever is left to chance would have no chance. What you don’t see coming will never come. Do not allow your situation to limit your vision. Today, ask God for a solid vision for your life and doggedly pursue it. Make up your mind never to embark on any journey without God. Remember, motion is never possible without vision, if you do not know where to go, you will not leave where you are.

O Lord, help me with the grace to always possess a solid vision in line with Your Will for my life in Jesus’ Name.
