Don’t Be Afraid or Worried!

Deuteronomy 20:8(NLT)
Then the officers will also say, ‘Is anyone here afraid or worried? If you are, you may go home before you frighten anyone else.
Fear has been confirmed to be a deadly enemy of destiny, it invites disaster and arrests progress. The fear of defeat makes people die in the present and makes them move as shadows of themselves. The officers were to ask soldiers who were afraid to go back from the battle so as not to influence others in the war. All fears are contagious. Like virus, they can weaken the fabric of human courage and make valiant people flee from presumed danger. As God would not tolerate all other fears in the Old Testament army, so will He not condone it in the New Testament where we now have a NEW covenant established. 2 Timothy 1:7 says “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
The truth is, there is no destiny for the fearful, other than destruction and damnation in lake of fire. Revelation 21:8 says “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” The fearful will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The question is, are you on God’s side? We have no reason to fear if indeed we are one with God. No problem is too big for Him to handle. When we are in the minority from a physical perspective, our Lord Jesus Christ warns us against being discouraged, because with God on our side, we are always in the majority and all things are possible. It is always wise to answer with faith when fear is knocking at the door. Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.” Saul, the first king of Israel, lost his throne because of the fear of man. Just like king Saul, many leaders have lost their God-given leadership position because of the fear of men.
Beloved, have faith and know that it is dangerous to look away from God. Keep your eyes and gaze on Him and He will surely help you to overcome all the battles of life. Today meditate on the Word of God to build your faith, so that instead of being fearful you can be an overcomer when the devil wants you to feel you are alone and abandoned. Declare the right things all the time. I declare you free from the bondage of fear today in Jesus’ Name. Never hang around people who are always living in fear. Don’t allow the devil to fill your heart with fear because fear itself is a sin that will send you to hell. Draw closer to the Lord until you are abiding in the shadow of the Almighty and no matter how dangerous this world becomes He shall surely deliver you.
O Lord, give me the grace to starve my fear by building my faith in Your Word in Jesus’ Name.
