God is Love!

1 John 4:7-8(KJV)
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Love is a central theme of the Christian faith and is a primary characteristic of God’s nature. John admonishes every child of God to love one another. The above Scripture says God is Love, therefore since nothing is more powerful than God and God is Love, we can confidently say “Love is Powerful.” Love is a powerful force on earth that makes positive contributions into the lives of others and sacrifice for one another. For God so love the world….. God’s love for His children is incomparable and never fails! He loves us so much that He has our names inscribed in His Palm. If you can prove to God that you truly love Him, you will provoke greater love and great blessings in return.
We live in a world where many people profess to love God but their love for God does not show in confessing Him to people. Our scripture for today puts a fine line between us and the world. The world does not have the capacity to love; no wonder the world is being overtaken by hate speeches all over the place. As a Christian loving God and other people should be our focus in life. When you love someone you talk about the person. To live a life of affection for God is to love God to the extent of talking about Him frequently. There are people from whose mouths you will never hear anything about God. The question is, how can you claim to love God in your heart and it does not flow out of your lips? Lovers of God are always talking about His Goodness and Mercies.
David was a man after God’s own heart because his love for God was hot more than any other person in his generation. It was his love for God that drove him to confront Goliath and this brought him the victory that Saul the king could not obtain for Israel. We must understand that love is greater than faith. We are told that there are three forces–faith, hope and love but the greatest of them is love (1 Corinthians 13:13). Now, if by taking the shield of faith we can quench all the fiery darts of the devil, then by walking in love, we quench the devil himself! Bible says in 1 John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. That means the love of God makes us become a partaker of God. The nature of God begins to flow inside us and satan can’t handle that!
Beloved, I urge you to live with a commitment to abide in love, for when we abide in love we abide in God. Today, release love into every situation, moment, prayer and thought until it totally consumes your life. As Christians, we must always radiate the love of God with meekness, kindness, patience, peace and joy. Start your day thinking about the love of God. Meditate on it, speak to yourself and others about His Love.
O LORD, thank You for Your Love, I ask for the grace to love You above everyone and everything else in my life in Jesus’ Name.
