Ephesians 6:8 (KJV)
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Our anchored Scripture inspires us with the truth that God never forgets our contributions to others. Each act of goodness is a direct opportunity to serve our Lord. God promises that we will receive the recognition and rewards we deserve for our righteous deeds. His grace and rewards are not based on societal status, wealth, or power, but rather on our actions and intentions, regardless of our backgrounds or circumstances. Every effort we make, in service, work, or daily responsibilities, is acknowledged by God and is never in vain. Hebrews 6:10 says, “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.” We should recognize the blessing in doing good. God truly rewards the works of those who steadfastly hold on to Him. Apostle Paul encourages us in Galatians 6:9, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” The God we serve is the Greatest Rewarder of His children. Life is fundamentally a journey of sowing and reaping; we receive according to what we invest. Our service should flow from a pure heart and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others, reflecting the love God has bestowed upon us.
We serve a God who never forsakes or forgets His people. He is always present for us, regardless of the circumstances in our lives. It is in His Nature to remember our deeds and offer us adequate reward. Unlike us, God, the All-knowing, does not forget. When Obed-Edom welcomed the ark of God into his home, the Great Rewarder abundantly blessed him within three months, even drawing the envy of King David (2 Samuel 6:10-12). Acts 10:31 says, “And said, Cornelius, thy prayer is heard, and thine alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.” God not only remembered Cornelius’s prayers but also his acts of charity, transforming his life forever and making him a vessel for the Gospel to be preached to the Gentiles. When God remembers His children, their situations change for the better, as we saw with Cornelius. It’s crucial to note that God views it as unrighteous to forget our labor of love in His Vineyard, which is why the midwives in Egypt were rewarded with homes (Exodus 1:17-21). Today’s world may be filled with wickedness, overshadowing acts of goodness, yet God sees our toil and will reward us justly. Every act of kindness, diligence, or love is an opportunity to serve the Lord directly. Even the smallest tasks, cleaning, cooking, mentoring, can be genuine acts of worship when performed with a heart devoted to God.
Beloved, approach your daily tasks with unwavering integrity and dedication, knowing that your ultimate reward comes from God. Wherever you find yourself, do good, and you will receive divine elevation as a gift from Him in return, for God never forgets the labor of love of His people. Strive to be your best in every opportunity, regardless of your circumstances, for your service is not unto man but unto God, who is ever aware of your efforts. He knows your tears and the passion you invest in prayer for lost souls. God sees your financial contributions toward the spread of the Gospel and your commitment to winning souls for Christ. He acknowledges the sacrifices you have made for His Name’s sake, time, money, family, friends, and relationships. God has not forgotten your goodness and will adequately compensate you. Doing good to those at home, at work, in church, and in the community is your service to the Lord. Amid intense service to others, even during disappointment or disapproval, find joy in your motivation to serve Him first. God is impartial and a perfect and just Judge. Even if others forget, He will not. Therefore, whatever you do for His sake, expect significant rewards from Him alone, without looking to man. Today, serve God to the best of your ability, and He will remember your diligent efforts on His behalf. Remain encouraged, and maintain your quality work, for God sees your labor. Do not let delays discourage you; instead, put patience to work, as the Word of God assures you of your reward. Remember to always work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.
O Lord, I choose to serve You with my whole heart. Help me to do everything to the best of my ability in Jesus’ Name.
