In The Name Of The Lord

1 Samuel 17:45-46

Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.

According to the Scriptures, those born of God are destined for a life of extraordinary accomplishments and exploits. The knowledge of God is a precious gift granted only to those who know the Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth. Understanding God is crucial for the fulfillment of our destiny. As soldiers of God, it is essential to know God intimately, for only then can we perform fearlessly and courageously in the face of adversity. David’s unwavering faith in God allowed him to face Goliath boldly without a sword. Invoking the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, David invited Heaven to fight for him, and the gates of hell could not prevail. David overcame Goliath because he knew his God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, the Lord of hosts, and the Mighty in battle.

One fundamental truth man needs on earth is the knowledge of God. If we know who our God is, nothing can stop us. Daniel 11:32 says, “………………. but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” Clearly, they who know their God shall be strong and do exploits. Knowing God is essential to us because knowing Him fuels our exploits. Exploit is the birthright of the redeemed of the Lord, nothing short of that. The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it, and they are safe. At the mention of the Name of the Lord, every knee should bow. The Name of the Lord is a dependable weapon of spiritual warfare. The three Hebrew boys didn’t fear death when King Nebuchadnezzar threatened to burn them. They were ready to die defending their beliefs. They knew the God of Israel could deliver them; their spiritual experience with God strengthened them in the ways they knew to overcome the fire. Our exploit as redeemed children of God is directly proportional to the level or amount of God’s Word inside us. Life becomes limited when we lack the Word of God.

Beloved, the knowledge of the ways of God through His Word makes you end as a commander of His Acts and is also a doorway to Divine proofs and exploits. Be determined to know God and His Word, and you will exist in the realm of exploits. As Paul desired to know Him and the Power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, do likewise as a servant of the Most High God, and you will be destined for greatness. Be dedicated to studying and obeying God’s Word. Make up your mind to treasure His Word more than your food. As long as you remain a child of God, you are a candidate for supernatural exploits! What is that Goliath threatening your life and giving you sleepless nights? Arise and use the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, and that Goliath will fall in Jesus’ Name. Find victory by turning to God, and through the Name and Blood of Jesus Christ, triumph shall be yours. Remember, your sword is in your mouth, so use it to gain the benefits attached to it as David did.

O LORD, I ask for a deep hunger to know You more intimately. Let Your Power produce commanding exploits in my life in Jesus’ Name.
