Obey And Serve God

Job 36:11-12(KJV)

If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

From our anchor Scripture, it is clear that our obedience and service to God provokes the blessing of God in our lives. Our obedience and service to God attract both kingdom prosperity and security. When we align our lives with God’s principles and follow His ways, we experience His blessings. Obedience isn’t about sheer rule-following; it’s about surrendering our hearts to God’s will. Whoever wishes to enjoy the best God offers must be ready to obey and serve Him all the way. When we serve God and the interest of His Kingdom, He adds to us what others are dying to get. When the children of God meet His Conditions and live by His Principles, He empowers His people with His resources. In other words, there is a connection between abundance and obedience. We can’t end in lack, when we obey and serve God. Psalms 34:10 says, “The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.”

Our obedience and service are keys to generational prosperity. God’s secret key to prosperity is with those who are obedient to His Word. Serving God and others brings purpose and joy. According to the Bible, Abraham was righteous and the wealthiest man in the East. Isaac became exceedingly prosperous due to his covenant of righteousness, making him the target of envy among the Philistines. Psalm 37:25 says, “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread.” This is what the covenant-keeping God has with His righteous children: they never beg for bread. Isaiah 1:19 says, “If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” The key to possessing the earth is given only to God’s obedient and willing children. The sin of disobedience is terrible. Nothing hinders the children of God from fulfilling their purpose in life like disobedience. It has been confirmed that one of the consequences of disobedience is the crash of destiny; that is to say, disobedience prevents the fulfillment of God’s plan and purpose for an individual. The most significant frustration in life is borne out of intention (willingness) without corresponding action (obedience). Most Christians come to Church, get excited, and feel good about the messages preached but do nothing about it. Some refuse to obey the simple divine instructions given to them by the man they call Pastor, so nothing changes around them or in their lives. Matthew 21:6, and the Scripture says, “And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.”

Beloved, obedience is the easiest and shortest access to your breakthrough. God desires your well-being. As you walk in obedience, He grants you moments of joy, delight, and fulfillment. Never respect anyone enough to agree to disobey God. Don’t be one of those who will disobey God out of respect for people. Adam respected Eve, his wife, and ate the forbidden fruit she gave him, whereas God commanded that he should not eat it. Do not agree with anyone to disobey God, even if it is your husband, wife, family member, or boss at your place of work. Make God the priority of your life, above everyone else. Examine yourself today and repent from every act of disobedience in your life. You cannot give God your life and your story remains the same! As you obey and serve God, I see God cause you to enjoy undeniable prosperity and all-round pleasure in Jesus’ Name! Remember, delayed obedience, adjusted obedience, selective obedience, partial obedience, and no obedience is disobedience.

O Lord, help me to obey and serve You unconditionally in Jesus’ Name.
