Meditate

Genesis 24:63-64(KJV)

And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

It has been confirmed through Scriptures that great and solid destinies are born at the place of prayer and meditation on the Word of God. In other words, great and mighty things happen when believers take time to meditate on the Word and pray. Meditation leads to respect and obedience to God’s Word and remembrance of His Promises. It is written in Joshua 1:8 “it is reading the Bible and absorbing its nutrients that transforms a life. Without the word of God, the soul is dead.” It is meditating on the Word and absorbing its nutrients that transforms a life and changes destiny. Without the Word of God and prayer, the soul and body are dead.

Isaac was one of the greatest men of his days. The Scripture tells us how Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening to seek the Face of the Lord. Meditation was a major part of his life and his meditation was probably a custom handed down to him from his father, Abraham. Notice it says, “He lifted up his eyes.” He was so passionate about God that he would separate himself and go to the field alone to meditate and his life never remain the same. He meditated in Genesis chapter 24 and by the time we saw him in Genesis chapter 26, he was already doing great exploits. It was when he had meditated that his desires began to race towards him. Rebecca came to him when he was meditating. The expected bride came and brought joy and excitement. He moved forward because of his passion for God. When we begin to meditate on the Word and pray, our desires will begin to race towards us. Ideas and what we should do per time will begin to come to us. As we remember His promises and great works in our lives, we are challenged to seek Him more. Isaiah 26:3 says “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

Beloved, cultivate a lifestyle of meditation on God’s Word on a daily basis. Ensure that you develop a buoyant relationship with God at the place of prayer. Live a consecrated and dedicated life. The answers you need to your situation are not in the wisdom of men. Lift up your eyes to God, meditate on His Word, and He will enable you to see and receive the blessings He has planned for you. Through Divine meditation you will stand out among equals. You will be greater than your contemporaries because you are spending time to acquire divine wisdom. Remember, your passion for God determines your portion with God.

O Lord, I receive the grace to meditate on Your Word as I lift my eyes to You today, let my portion in life be delivered to me, in Jesus’ Name.
