Redeemed And Blessed Through Christ

Galatians 3:13–14 (KJV)

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

The Apostle Paul unveils one of the gospel’s most profound truths: Jesus Christ bore our curse so we could receive the blessings promised to Abraham. Scripture clearly reveals that Christ died not only to redeem us from death but also to rescue us from curses. The atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, along with His glorious Resurrection, provides powerful grounds for our liberation from curses as believers. The curse of the law highlights the consequences of failing to adhere to its strict demands. By becoming a curse for us, He fulfilled the law’s requirements on our behalf, freeing us from its condemnation. Through His sacrificial death, Jesus took on the curse meant for us, bearing the weight of our sins and transgressions. In a selfless act, Christ bridged the gap between God and humanity by willingly enduring this curse, offering us reconciliation with God and salvation from the eternal consequences of our sins. Jesus shed His precious Blood and faced a cursed death for our deliverance. His crucifixion liberates us from every curse in our lives. In Christ, we are not participants in generational curses but heirs to generational blessings. In essence, Christ has absorbed our curses and gifted us His blessings.

As we journey through life, understanding Christ’s sacrifice and the freedom it brings can fill our hearts with profound peace and assurance, especially for those grappling with identity and worth. By embracing the promise of the Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ, we discover true freedom and restoration in our relationship with God. This act of redemption allows the blessing promised to Abraham to reach the Gentiles through faith. The promise of the Spirit is intertwined with Abraham’s blessing and is received through faith in Christ. Through Him, the promise is fully realized and made accessible, breaking down barriers and ennobling all people, regardless of background, as the Holy Spirit affirms our status as children of God. Thus, the Blood that matters now transcends our own lineage; it is the Blood of Jesus Christ. We overcome the devil by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:11). As 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” When we make Jesus Christ Lord of our lives, we become daughters and sons of God through faith. We receive the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance and a source of spiritual empowerment, guidance, and comfort. We hold authority over any curse in the Name of Jesus because God sent Jesus to redeem us from the curse. The promise of the Spirit is fulfilled in us as we believe in Jesus Christ and allow the Spirit to work within and through us, transforming us into the image of Christ.
